CH 18: Zombie hunt (Quin, TS, PA, SPM)

[kurff]

"Yeah like the lady says back off. And you out the answers...." he stepped between Mei and the 'dead man', "May as well get money worth right?" he winked at her.

That he was as interested as she seemed to be as most folks would run. He was gauging if the walking dead man could hauled out if he let a smoke bomb loose. Right...as the old expression Aster used went 'it was easier to get forgiveness than permission'.

If he had to make a fast escape he was ready for that too. He looked for the safest way to drop the smoke bomb and make a grab for each one arm of the woman (Mei) and the bum and then dragged them out of there seemed logical.

The bio-zombie bum looks confused. "Hey!" He says, pushing Arcadian off of Mei, he was a lot stronger and faster than he looked. "I said to back off the lady."

"MIss." He says, his back to Mei "you may want to go the way you came."

"Got it." Mei hears on her bandadio. "Found their frequency."

Mei is confused on what to do. As a precaution she does back up and throw a personal forcefield around her body. She is not sure who came over the radio if she recognizes the voice or not. To make sure she keeps up an act she goes into a female cowering mode and backs up to the wall!

(OOC, it is Aegis that is on the Bandaidio)

Aegis, goes on to say, "Mei, just head out of the alley. We have what we came for." over the bandaidio. The CSPD will be here in a few minutes anyways.

"Arcadian." Arcadian hears on his own radio bud (not a Bandaidio, but the official institutional earbud). It was TS. "Satus? SPM'll be there in a few minutes, and PA's just around the corner."

Mei looks up and down the alley and chooses to go left and starts to walk as quickly as she can but not breaking into a run!

"Found on the 'Zombies'...seems there some sort of experiment." Lets hope they didn't include he thought. Looking at the bum, he was dealing what Paragon would have called an augment..

"Look I'm trying to help..." he told the Bio-zombie, "Whoever did that to is certainly doing so illegally....You wanna die for some freak be my guest..." He grinned, "See I know someone who may be able to help you." he only needed a few seconds.

As Mei makes her escape the bums are noticing that she's no longer under the "zombie-bum's" protection, and start to make for her.

At about the same time, the bio-zombie says to Arcadian. "I am being helped. And I'm helping others." He says, righteously. "It's all I have to do this, now. I don't need it undone. It can't be anyways. That's what I was told before I got it."

Mei's fortunes aren't getting better, as the bums close in on her.

However, before things get really out of hand, Aegis hops off a building landing between Mei and the bums. "Back off." She says, weilding a large shotgun at them. Obligingly, they make a lot of room.

"Aegis!" The Bio-Zombie says, seeing the armour. "Can you get her out of here. I have my hands full." Here. He adds in an imitation salute as he turns back to Arcadian. "Look just move along, huh? This isn't your alley." He says.

Mei not sure what to do sticks behind Aegis not wanting to reveal anything about herself and her powers as she does not want it to be publicly known. "Excuse me Miss, you are here to save me?"

[kurff]

"Your right it isn't my alley, But its seems were all on the same side and wasting a lot time. I have problem I need to solve and it seems your probably working on the same problem. So instead getting territorial...maybe we should co-operate. If your the heroes you claim to be then I can help." he stated.

"Aegis, You the team leader here or what?" he looked over the armor, "If so we need to talk. Either way I suggest we take our talk elsewhere. "

"What do you guys say? and the names Arcadian I usually dress nicer than this." he looks serious.

"Hold on." Mei hears Aegis say over her bandaidio. As she says this, she takes Mei and helps her out of the alley over a roof and gone.

Arcadian doesn't hear Aegis, only seeing her silently take Mei and hop out of the alley.

As the women leave, Power Armour arrives armoured up, followed by SPM. "Well, gimminy jinkers." Says SPM. "Look at this place."

The Bio-zombie bum whirls on the pair. "What the... Who are you guys?"

"CSPD." PA says, brandishing a badge. "Sir. Come please with us." He adds trying to sound official.

"I... what?" The bum asks. "What's this about? The girl got away safe, OK?"

Mei having nothing really to say and knowing she was not in any real danger accepts the trip out of the alley never-the-less. Once out of earshot range. "Well that was fun now. If we got everything that we need, then what is next on the list of things to do?"

[kurff]

"Hope so I wasn't about to harm her or anyone else. Look we just need to talk. You haven't done anything wrong but there are a few things you might like to know..and some we would like to know." Arcadian added, "and I was serious about you being able to make a real difference."

Arcadian was not having a good day, but he could trak the other two down later on his own time. With the Foundations resources and Mc Phee's help he might be able to get a better perspective.

"You were about to harm her?" The bum asks, looking sidelong at Arcadian.

However, the CSPD van came up. "We need you to come with us, sir." Says an armoured CSPD officer. Troubleshooter not immediately visible. By the sounds of things he was in the armour. "We have some questions about the experiment that was performed on you."

The bum looked around. "Wha... wh... why? What's gonig on? They said it was ethical..."

Mei stays quiet all the while being sequestered away.

Afterf a couple of leaps, Mei finds herself alone, on top of a warehouse, with Aegis, looking the way they came.

"Well, that went well, hmm?" She says. "We got the frequency. I think it was tied to the van that drove by."
