I recently decided I would like to try my hand at GMing a game on this site (with Daks permission of course) After looking through my palladium collection, I decided to make ATB2 my first GM experience. Since it is my first time GMing I have asked Sasqaricous to help me out and he has agreed.
My idea, Your part of a small group of mutants that have decided to try and make a go of it in your own community on whats left of the continent of North America. You stake claim to either an old farm, or an abandoned small town. Now your job... to survive. Will you face human incursions, mutated non intelligent animals, roving bandits? Other mutants that seek to undermine what you've built? Will your community stand together and hold its own? Or will it divide, crumbling under attacks and unfavorable circumstances? What role will you play in shaping your community and keeping it alive and striving?
Everyone is welcome, The more people playing the bigger and stronger the community. All characters will come from ATB2 only please. Any mutant concept is possible and can be accepted in the community.
For the moment just gauging interest. Post here if your interested in playing in this game.

I'm sorry. I want it to be a community of mutant animals and stick to the ATB powers and mutations. Any of the the ATB supplement books will work as well.

Maybe in the future once things are rolling, I'll open it up to human mutants. But for now I want to just keep it to mutant animals. Sorry if I wasn't clear at the outset.

Hmmm.... now i'm not so sure i'm thatinterested now... i meean EVERYBODY wants to do mutant animal in after the bomb... me i want to be different (and didn't even choose the most powerful creature in there) and it's vetoed... shrugs.... Meh, I'm used to it. It' fine you may let in humans later.... but desn't help me in the meantime cause if i want to play NOW (and not possibly be put on a waiting list) i have to make a character i did not want to play.... only to have to replace it with the human one later... which is lots of extra work for me..... I MIGHT consider it if there is an extra incentive of some sort for being a good sport and taking what i'm given, and playing it well, while waiting for you to approve the pc i really want to play. I guess I could do a Pleasure bunny or Pig person for something that really blurs human/animal lines but will need some more convincing. What will we be starting out with gearwise? what are the resources of the area we'll settle? other stuff like that.

I'm sorry that this game doesn't seem to be for you. A pleasure bunny or pig is acceptable, but ALL players start at level 1. Like I said this is my first game and I want to try and make it enjoyable for all those that want to play the plot I have laid out while not getting myself in over my head.

No prob didn't say it wasn't for my just that iwasn't AS interested as I was at first... and I understand we start at first, was only curious if you were gonna provide special extras or something is all.. like tool sets and gear to practice their trades and the like.... trying to learn more bought your plans for the gam.

If it were the abandonned town scenario, would you envision something like in the Stand (where it was all there, but just sort of left behind), or more like Stargate Universe (where there is the challenge to unlocking the secrets)? Or is there something more general like that planned regardless of the setting?

It's going to be more like the Stand,(had to read wiki for that info) or Stargate Atlantis if you will. The town is empty, been that way since the Crash. Some stuff works, Some not so much. It will be a small town, I have yet to pinpoint exact location, but to survive the Bomb's it wouldn't be especially near to any major cities or technology centers that would have been targeted, however, those cities would be close enough to encourage exploration.
The Crash Genetically engineered human cell turned disease infects humanity. 74% of humans wiped out. Some animals also get infected, some died, but survivors started showing human traits. The Bomb World Leaders dieing from the disease that caused the Crash thinking they were under attack, press the button and launch Nuclear attacks against worlds largest cities. (For more info on "The Crash" or "The Bomb" check ATB2 p 163 & 164)

Hmm... So, in reality, you could set up a fictitious village that has all the elements you mentioned above: like an old abandonned farm town, or something similar... Heck, a mining resource town, too, would be cool... but maybe that's later, when they figure out what a mine shaft is for besides dumping off criminals.
