CH 16: Moving on... (Mai and Kendall)

[Dome]

Kendall smiles, "I understand. I didn't mean to put you on the spot. So do you want to plan tomorrow or play it by ear."

[sasqaricious]

"Whatever you would like to do."

[Dome]

Kendall frowns, "Ok, so we're back to this," he says raising his eyebrow. "Well, we will get up, Go do some furniture shopping. Go for a walk down at the beach, maybe. Then we can find some place for some dancing. Maybe a jazz club at night."

[sasqaricious]

"I will let you surprise me then." She grins and then closes one eye and sticks out her tongue.

[Dome]

When the waitress returns with the food, Kendall dives in, obviously hungry as he doesn't say anything for a while as he just eats his lasagna and sips his wine. Occasionally he looks up and smiles at her.

[sasqaricious]

Mei eats slightly slower, just more of a trying it bit by bit. Savouring everymouthful as if it was if she has not eaten in a long time or this was going to be her last meal.

[Dome]

Kendall pauses after a few minutes of eating. He says, "sorry I guess I was a little hungry. How do you like the food."

[sasqaricious]

"It is delicious. I know I am going to regret this later on though. How is yours?"

[Dome]

"It is good, but the company is better," he says winking. He picks up his wine glass and holding it out to her he says, "care to toast? To us, and the happiness we are sharing. May it last a lifetime."

[sasqaricious]

"Mei raises her glass in a toast like position but adds nothing to it."

[Dome]

Kendall sips his wine and goes back to eating silently. After he finishes about 3/4ths of his lasagna, and the meatballs he says, "well I'm done. How bout you?"

[sasqaricious]

Even if she is not done one third of it she agrees. "Yes I am done." She makes a face. "Now I remember why I do not eat food." As she feels very uncomfortable right now.

[Dome]

"Ok, I'll get the check paid and we can get going as soon as possible," he says, a worried look on his face. He motions to the waitress for the check as soon as he sees her and when she pays the bill he uses a credit card to pay it. He then signs the check leaving a big tip on the card.

Once that is all done he gets up and extends his hand to help Mei.

Mei accepts the help offered and gets up. The bloated feeling is just beyond belief and it is hard enough to hold it down. "Thank-you." She says weakly. "I forgot how much I regretted stuff like this!"

[Dome]

"I really hope you thought it was good enough to justify this. I really didn't want you to get sick on my account. Lets get you home. Can you walk to the car, or should I carry you," he asks as they get outside.
