CH 16: Moving on... (Mai and Kendall)

[Dome]

Kendall doesn't say anything else but takes her cell phone before she walks out the door. Using his CSTel access on his laptop he makes sure her GPS is on the phone and marks down the information. He says simply, "so I can find you later."

He hands the phone back and waves as they leave the apartment. Getting over the warm fuzzies, he moves into action by heading to his room. He opens the closet and changes into on of his military uniforms, gray and white fatigues. Donning a pair of his old combat boots, Kendall finishes off his outfit with trenchcoat from the back of his closet.

He cannot help but look in the full length mirror before heading out. After doing so, he heads back to the closet and grabs the coats matching fedora. "Going out to solve a crime that hasn't been committed yet, least I can do is look the part."

He remembers something and removes his coat and puts on his shoulder holster. Putting the coat back on, he grabs the addressed note from his discarded clothing being sure to deposit those in his laundry(has to keep up the neatness). On his way out the front door he stops at his desk and opening the bottom drawer he retrieves his gun. and latching into the holster. He grabs a few spare clips and drops them into one of his coats pockets. Checking his wallet for his Concealed carrying permit just to be sure, he then walks out the door locking it behind him.

Once out in the street, he opts not to take his car and begins to walk to the address on his note. As he progresses he decides to test his bionics and activating his motion detector to keep him from tripping over someone he picks up speed. As the wind picks up with his increase velocity, he reaches up and grabs his hat the tucks it into one of his jackets inner pockets. Then as his speed increases past jogging speed he moves onto the street and continues accelerating. When he finds he is passing vehicles he maintains that pace.

"OK then."

Mei goes to her car and punches up on the GPS the location to where she is going and drives to the address.

(Kendall has a weapons permit?! )

Kendall finds his way to the office on the card's address. It is a very clean medical centre. The nurse at the front desk waves her over. "Can I help you, Mr...?" She asks.

Mei ends up in the Midgard neighbourhood, with many high condo towers, and such. At the address she saw, the sales office was open.

(well I assumed yes because of being ex-military and most ex-military I know have gun permits if I overstepped, I can edit my post. sorry)

"Kendall, Peter Kendall. I'm expected."

Mei walks into the sales office.

Hmm I guess I should of dressed up for this, but that is neither here nor there.

Walking up to the sales desk. If it is a male she will turn on the charm otherwise she will continue along the way.

"Excuse me. A friend of mine advised me to come here to look for a condo as I am planning to move into the city regardless of what happens on the show. I mean... nevermind!" Kendall

"Alright." Says the nurse. "Yes, I see your name, here. The doctor will see you in a moment."

After about 10 minutes, the doctor Kendall met in the café brought him back to the rear room. "Dorsette gave me the specs on your current implants. I've replicated them and added the new ones. It will simply be a replacement job, with the remote jack implanted in behind the ear. Sound good?"

(Mei)

"Well, we have a forced sale, if you're interested." Says the office clerk. "I'll get a manager here. It's 400,000, and a 2-bedroom unit."

As Mei looked at the leaflet, she could tell that William wasn't immediately with her.

"Alright." Says a manager. "I hear you're interested in one of our units."

[Dome]

"Review for me what we're talking about here? I've been busy and I've lost track."

"Actually I am looking for a 2 bedroom condo to be exact and that sounds like it is within my price range. So if there is time I would not mind seeing it and I do have some questions on it. I mean if no one else has seeked it out." She gives him a moment to take it in and follows him to where he leads.

"First off, do the sweets come furnished? What floor is it on. What are condo fees and all those nice questions?"

[Dome]

After a moments though Kendall says, "oh yeah now I remember what we discussed." Kendall begins ticking off on his fingers the previously discussed implants, "make the telescopic eye also a camera that can record, sound recorder blue tooth interface. Remember, no jacks in my head doc.

"I was wondering, what other spy style stuff you could offer? I recently realized a bug detector and scrambler could be useful. I keep getting this nagging feeling I'm being watched. Also with running at high speeds I think maybe a radar system so I'm sure to avoid obstacles and tripping hazards that are coming up. Oh and I know I'm asking for alot, but thermo imaging would be a nice feature. I recently had a run in with an invisible man. How long will this take doc? I got a lead on that thing job I'm doing for Dorsett."

after a second Kendall says, "oh I almost forgot, I need to be able to track gps devices. Think this is all doable tonight?"

Kendall

"You would have to pay for the additional upgrades yourself. The camera and bluetooth devices are part of a negotiated agreement, and nothing else." Said the doctor, matter-of-factly, his bedside manner holding well. "And they would have to wait until I can secure the needed parts, plus considerable recuperation time after such a surgery."

"Any work you have specifically with Dorsett you should bring up with him, though."

Mei

"It's on the 14th floor, second down from the pent-house." The manager says. As she walks by, she can see other units for sale, running for 425K-450K, but on lower floors. "Condo fees are 300 a month, and include all the usual perks, plus a privately managed leaky condo fund."

The manager takes her through a nice tall lobby to the big elevators, up to the 14th floor of the building. There, he leads her to the condo apartment, which was nicely appointed: not huge, but well-planned for space. It was empty, looking like itwas cleared out in a hurry. "The previous owners had to move out in a hurry to a new job." Said the landlord. "So they didn't have much time to deal with all the work. Hence the discount and the need for a quick sale."

[Dome]

"Okay thats fine. Let's get this done then. I'll sort out the rest with Dorsette later." Kendall settles back on the exam table. "what do I need to do?"

[Renekin Skywalker]

"Just relax. I will be injecting you with a mild anesthetic so that I can work on the eye." The doctor says. "There will be some disorientatin until the eye is reattached, and then you will have a few days of control issues, much like you remember from when you first recieved the cybernetics."

A nurse was wheeling in a table of medical tools.

[Dome]

Kendall lays back and and tries to relax as the procedure starts he asks, "my current options will still be available when this is all done right?"

The doctor nods in response to Kendall. "The eye has just enough space to make the changes you want. You'll notice it's a bit heavier than your old one, but not by too much, and you'll get used to it."

[Dome]

Kendall lies back and says, "all right doc. Lets get r done."
