Issue 2: Into the lair

Again, the Punisher tries to evade X-23's attack, [dice=20+3] but this time he could get out of the way before she sliced him, causing the big man to double over and dropped to the floor.

One of the two remaining AIM troopers again fires at Cal [dice=20] the shot deflecting off of her hardened body to hit the ceiling by Aura.

Cal's blow was off target, and missed the big man thanks to the distraction Creed had caused.

In the other room, Cap missed it, but Gambit picked up on the fact that there was only one interactive control panel in the room and that it was within striking distance of the Brood Queen. As his distraction blew, the alien monster ereeled back in pain, giving Tabitha her opportunity to shuffle backwards to safety until her back hit the wall. Launching a pair of her pins at the archer's bow string she spaced them so the single throw would hit both shoulders. It was a trickshot but she could pull it off (she hoped).

The Thing took a wild roundhouse swing at Sabertooth [dice=20+3]
Creed tried to get out of it's way [dice=20+4], and spun away from the heavy blow with blood spurting from his mouth as he dropped to all fours, dazed but not out.

Hawkeye made his best effort to avoid Blink's attack [dice=20+5]but both struck home. It wasn't enough to pin the archer, but both arms hung, unable to raise his bow. He turned and bolted from the room despite his injuries.

"You have Kitty's powers, so, I need to you do something for me." He says, his Southerland Velvet in full swing. "I need you to take these cards and put them in her body. Got it?" He asks. The whole deck of cards has been charged on a time charge to go asplody! "You have only a few seconds. Good luck."

Cap rushes back into the other room to bring in Fury. "Hurry Colonel, we haven't much time."

Aura absorbed the laser blast from soldier retaliates with it in turn. This time aiming for the gun yet again trying to disable the last of the soldiers without killing them. Never realizing how blood thirsty her companion actually was! She shivers at the thought of what she has witnessed on this day though!

The AIM took the hit and went down spinning, leaving only the Thing to be dealt with while Fury got up slow, one of Hawkeye's arrows stuck in his collarbone area. " Next time I wear armor." Fury sputtered in pain.

Tabitha shook here head, terrified. " Inside? ...I can't.... I can't do that!" she was panicked and obviously not thinking right. Behind him, Gambit heard the pop of another restraint, and the felt the wind of a claw swiping by close enough to feel the breeze, but couldn't reach yet.

Blink looks for any large loose debris to port just bind him so when he backs up he trips. He was big..but as the old expression goes the bigger they are, she thought while looking about.

"Gee, you could train with Me and Creed...I'm pretty fast." she gets near fury to protect him best she can.

"Then you are no good here." Gambit says, whipping the charged cards from her hand, throwing them at the Queen's mouth, before they exlpoded while Tabitha was holding them.

Tabitha covered up from the explosion, the impact of Gambit's comments having more effect than the debris from the charged cards exploding and making the chained monster squeal in pain. It lashed out, still held in place by the two remaining restraints. Tab got to her feet. " I'll show you who's no good, Captain Lebeau," she snarled, her tone dripping with hatred as she drew her saber and approached the Brood Queen. By the time Captain America had brought fury into the room, she was lost in combat, much as both men had seen Wolverine do over the years. The remaining restrainsts burst, and the alien locked itself in combat with Tabitha.

Fury mumbled to Cap," The girl's brave, I'll give her that. Help me to the control panel, we can activate it and get out of here."


The Thing , knowing how badly he was outnumbered, finally decided that Hawkeye had made the right decision and started to make his escape. The problem was he decided to go right through all the others, shoulder checking Creed aside as he headed for the door.
