Dante climbs up onto the back of the Unicorn and wraps his arms around Jeckle's waste. "I'm all set, lets go."

" Be careful and watch each other's backs." Khris replied as he moved off. With his Dragunov in hand, he shouldered the rifle once he had a good shooting position using the open sights beneath the scope to line up his shots and took aim at one of the shadow beasts nearest to Pantera' path. [dice=20+5] he didn't wait for it to hit before swinging to the next target and pulled again. He intendeded to just pick targets at random until things started to get hairy.
Over the team radio, his humming to himself could be heard, though the tune was impossible to make out.[rand=29457866709572683990712585240076106967713535804493033077072138882724]

*Jeckle senses Kirin bunch up just before he steps out quickly, then with a leap and a burst of feathers sweeping down, the wings lift them and they climb up above the treeline and circles for the dragon to emerge and lead the way.
*she remains with her fingers laced in his mane, too scared to let go or even look about. as the dragon emerges, they fall in behind and a little to the left. remaining inside the 'blip' of radar it gives so that if any are watching they'll think only one is coming

When Tiger decides she is close enough, she starts firing. It isn't hard to tell that Pantera's power makes her more leathal, every other shot fells one of the shadow beasts and even the ones that don't go down are clearly hurt badly.
Pantera leaps over the remaining shadow beasts while Tiger flips into the air and comes down shooting in the midst of a clump of shadow beasts. She whirls and dodges and empties her pistols, drawing the pilgrim's gun instead of reloading. Then when the pilgrim's gun is empty, she breaks the top, ejecting the shells and slams a speed loader home while kicking back one of the shadow beasts.
Glaurung, with Steelfist and Strongbow, and Kirin, with Jeckle and Dante clear the ridge and find the huge phoenix and Ionic on the other side. In the distance, they can ear the sound of Tiger's guns and the occassional fire from the shadow beasts.

*Jeckle looks at the ones on the dragon for a clue on what to do. her body language seems to 'loose heart' at the presence of the Phoenix there with Ionic. she does not have her coat of many items just now, so she has to rely on the others to 'protect' her from major harm.
*she studies the terrain about Ionic to see if a landslide would cover him or not. turning her head so Dante can hear her, she asks 'you got any idea what to do now?'

As the others moved in, Khris began to fire a little more indiscriminantly, sending shot after shot at the shadows. But as his scope moved, he was looking for a clear shot at Ionic for turning traitor.

"Yeah, let the others deal with the phoenix, lets go after Ionic. He tried to kill you. I say we return the favor again. Fly a little closer, then i'll jump off and go forward on Nahir."
He reaches behind him and pulls out his sword and hands it to Jeckle, hilt first, "Here kill anything that gets close to you. Fly around, keep moving, don't stop, I'll get close to Ionic. Make sure that Ionic sees you, yell if you have to."

*almost as if Kirin read her mind, he drops closer to the ground and hovers long enough for Dante to slide off, then he takes to the air again, even as Jeckle holds the sword.
'safe hunting .. ' *words said to the empty air as she looks at Dante's position before they sweep into the view of Ionic. she twists the blade a little so the reflection shines in his eyes or the eyes of the firebird itself. the battle is started and its all she can do to stay out of attack range or getting hit

Dante and tell just by looking at Ionic that he is possessed, his posture, his eyes, everything about him is different. He sends an electric bolt at Jeckle.

The dragon and the phoenix are engaged in a titanic winged battle in the sky. Pantera has leapt up and is climbing the phoenix with its claws, holding fast despite attempts to shake the giant tiger off. Meanwhile Strongbow shoots the phoenix with her arrows. Steelfist, the Chinese soldier and Pacifica are sniping at Ionic, but he doesn't really notice them yet.
Khamai cannot be seen, but is lurking somewhere.

Kris and Tiger can't really see much over the ridge other than the orange glow from the phoenix. They don't have much time to ponder the fate of the other battle as hundreds of shadow beasts attack.
A burst of anti-aircraft fire erupts from the trees and mows down the shadow beasts near Tiger, but it goes silent soon after, empty. A tank bursts from the trees. Three soldiers are clinging to the outside of the mangled tank, brandishing assault rifles. The tank's main gun open fire and unleashes a fiery anti-personnel round into the cluster of shadow beasts to the north of Tiger.
Tiger retreats towards the tank, leaping backwards forty or fifty feet at a time, emptying and reloading her pistols in stunning displays of pistol work.

Jeckle urges Kirin to evade. her body reacting on instinct. who knows, maybe its a combination of bother or just sheer luck.

Seeing Tiger's retreat, Khris flipped the selector switch to automaic and swept behind her with a long burst to give the shadow beasts something to think about.

Kirin gets into the action with fancy aerial movements. he passes overhead and attempts to .. drop a load .. on Ionic's head and shoulders [ew - stinky]
Rolling "1d20 +4" 3 times - dodges [+6 additional if Kirin gets bonuses as well]
1: 18 + 6 = 24
2: 12 + 6 = 18
3: 11 + 6 = 17
Result of the throw of dice "1d20 +4" : [Kirin's flying 'bomb' attack]

The shock of getting hit by unicorn droppings causes Ionic to freeze. For several long seconds he remains motionless, completely stunned.
A vague look of comprehension creeps into his face, and he seems confused, as if half-asleep.

*Jeckle's elation of the fly-by dropping assault hitting the target shows as she looks back.
'way to go buddy, insult before injury . . . ' *she chuckles, knowing that the attention will now be centered on Kirin and herself. she pats the neck and they swing about again..
