Things had not gone well since 5th squad had set out on it's mission three days ago. The intel about a bunker complex had turned out to be a setup that had cost almost half the squad when Nikki, Arlo and Annette had been cut down by an ambush. Things had gone downhill from there when the pickup chopper had not shown up as scheduled yesterday, and when they'd found the wreckage, a Simvan clan had found it as well and had fought to keep their prize. Geoff, the squad's medic had been badly hurt and there was no sign of Xavier since he'd hung back to cover their escape. And to top it off, it looked like it would be a warm unwelcome in Westvale, judging by the plumes of smoke coming from that distance.
Geoff cough as he trudged behind Lobo's lead along the trail. Wiping at his mouth, he looked at the trickle of blood before wiping it on his leg. He stopped long enough to turn back to Lt. Dean, clutching the indented section of his armor's stomach. " Sir, I'm soon gonna have to stop. The Irms aren't working. The damage must be worse than I thought." Waiting for an answer, he turned back as a distance popping of a railgun broke the morning silence to the northeast. " Sounds like we're missing the party. " He groaned.
(tag - Lobo/ Lt, welcome aboard guys, time to get started)
(OOC - Irms = IRMSS )

Lobo looks at Lt, "I don't think we should take him to the middle of a firefight in his condition, leave Geoff here and we will come back for him." Lobo is fingering his C-27 eagerly, "besides, he will slow us down and we might miss the dance."
OOC: great to be aboard, sorry about the delay, I didn't have the email notification set up yet

(( I'll need the rank of Geoff and Lobo or whatever unofficial rank they would have been given ))
*The scene had played out in his head all too quickly. But then again, much of his life had flashed before him in similar circumstances. Lt Takenaka had reported back in for one of his regular check ups and was promptly informed that he'd be leaving with the 5th on a LRRP on a hunch. Bunker complex, possible insurgents, little else. Story of his life. Anticosti Island, Sault Saint Marie, it never ended.*
*He was brought back to reality quickly when Lobo addressed him*
Negative Lobo, no one is left behind. *he turned to Geoff and looked down quickly to assertain the damage done. He motions to Lobo to post a perimeter of 10 yards while he works on Geoff. He vowed to himself that he'd circle back and see if he could find Xavier and the others once a chance presented itself. If for no other reason that to bring them back home for a proper funeral*
Corpman, can you work a radio? *he said as he unslung the pack radio given for the longer distance communication. He proceeded to remove his armor in the injured location and patch him up as best as possible (First Aid/55%)*
(even if he says he can't he'll hand him the pack and point at what makes it work and what channel to tune in)
*Once he is done he shakes his head to Geoff and replies* Soldiers lived before Irmss, Soldiers will continue to live without them...hooahh soldier? *said mostly to try and inspire Geoff to keep going. It's all anyone had at the moment. Much like swimming in a lake, should one just stop, he'd drown under the waves (Instill Trust/65%)*
*and then the rapid popping of the rail gun is heard in the distance. A firefight....and no doubt Lobo is edgy to get back into the thick of it. Remaining quiet he slipped into procedure. Motioning for Geoff to take perimeter and set in a covering position behind Lobo and himself as we moved to investigate. He figured Geoff could at least do that and keep the radio pack with him. If it goes, communications gets cut waaaay short*
*he fliped off the safety to his NG-LG6 and proceeded towards the commotion alert and cautious*

Lobo just shakes his head, Geoff isn't a bad guy but right now he is more of liablity if they needs to stick and move, Hell it is bad enough that he has to slow down for the Lt.,
"Alright Lt, whatever", Lobo takes the perimeter while Lt tries to cheer up Geoff (usually its a losing propostion to cheer up the guy whose internal organs are spilling their contents into his belly).
Lobo waits while the Lt positions Geoff where he wants him and joins up with Lobo. Lobo suggests that they move off the trail and move in towards town using the brush as concealment.
OOC-Lobo doesn't really have rank, he is under Col. Lyboc in the 1st Special Forces Battalion, but this is part of a secret project by Col. Lyboc not offically recognized by the Coalition and in some areas he is not even recognized as being a Coalition soldier

*Moving as the gunfire can be heard to assist in covering their movements, LT stalks off the trail near Lobo. Pausing during the breaks of gunfire and motioning for Lobo to proceed as he sets to cover him*
(Camoflage 40%)

Geoff slips on the radiopack and takes up some cover behind a thicket as the sounds of SAMAS buzzing become apparent before a massive shadow accompanied by a roar swooped overhead, just above the trees.

Lobo drops low as the buzzing aproaches and starts scanning for the SAMAS.
He waits to see if the SAMAS is heading to or from the battle and to see if they are noticied by it.
(OOC-Aprox. how far are we from the battle we are hearing?)

If the SAMAS is just passing by Lobo will sit and wait till he is sure that it is going away and wil continue to move toward the battle.
If the SAMAS appears to be moving in on Geoff or himself and Lt.. Lobo will draw a bead on him with his Plasma Cannon and wait until the SAMAS closes on his postion or Geoff's at which point he will fire upon it.
OOC-do you normally roll combat and skill rolls or would you like to do that for us?

The Sam's seem to be headed towards the the group before suddenly veering off and disappearing in the distance. After a moment's silence, an engine springs to life straight up the trail and begins advancing towards the trio. At the rate it is advancing, it will round the turn and be on top of the squad's position before the driver sees them.

*Lt Takenaka notes the incoming SAMAS and moves back towards Geoff to get him clear of the oncoming vehicle. Motioning to Lobo to find a position off of the trail and away to avoid detection and trampling*

Lobo takes a postion off the side of the trail and will train his plasma cannon on where he first believes that he will see the vehicle come around the turn.

A battered Mark IX EPC trundles around the bend, showing no signs of noticing the group as it passes.

Lobo will wait until he is sure that the Mark IX EPC has passed and an additional few minutes to make sure no one else is following it, he wil then break cover and make his way to Lt..
OOC-Can we still hear the battle going on or has it stopped?
