Ch.7 - Just Another Day In Paradise (Everyone)

Mendez looks at shep after being dragged into cover and says with a smile;" jeeze sarge didnt know you cared. or are you just afraid to loose another officer." and as he leaves he says;" watch your self shep. dont hesitate to call for back up." with that he puts his helmet on.

Ellie looks to Mendez "Sir, I think I know where Sgt. Salinger is and he's in bad shape." She remembers back to where she had seen the building in her "vision" before and it comes to her. The guest house. "Sir, permission to use one of our men in retrieve him and get him to a safe location. He shouldn't be to far from here and I'm pretty sure we can make it to him." Ellie has a strong sense of urgency in her voice, almost tripping over her own words.

Dyson has stayed with Mendez and Ellie, continually covering the forest.

At the mention of Sgt. Salinger Dyson says "Do you know how much resistance there is going to be in retrieving him? If there isn't going to be much, then I should probably go with you. I wont be as useful as Gantry or Rhys if we get into a fire fight out here."

*Noting the quiet before the glint, Mariana spies ground around as she moves toward the glint. Notably, she's looking for tracks and such.*

After a few moments, Gantry stepped from behind the cook stove and approached the others. " Colonel, I have to say you have a peculiar approach to command. I know initiative in your subordinates is one thing, but this is ridiculous. Two of our senior personel are off playing hero against a force of unknown size, and now you're considering letting these two, " He motions towards Ellie and Dyson with a condesending tone," go try to find a tied up and wounded soldier that she thinks is out there somewheres? With all due respect, sir, maybe you should stick to the science and leave the soldiering to those of us with experience."

From his nearby position, Mikey leans closer to Rhys, his voice just loud enough for the sergeant to hear amid Gantry's speel. " Any chance you could make it two for two with lieutenants? I've got a bad feeling about this guy."

[Mariana]

Mariana quickly picks up a broken trail amongst the underbrush, possibly made by more than one person that led in the same direction they she was headed. As she slowly made her way, a pair of hushed muffled voices carried on the breeze from somewheres hidden ahead of her.

" They we're right where he said, but something tipped them off. Must've been one of the psi-brats."
"Probly, are the others in position?"
"Yup, just waiting to make their move."
"And the other one's been dealt with?"
"Being taken care of right now."
"Good, I like it when they're predictable. Hey, did you hear something?"
"I'll take a look."

A figure dressed in heavy 'Man Killer' armor came into view from behind a small grove of young evergreens.

Rhys looks side ways at Mikey and whispers back. "Let us hope he's as foolish as Archer and keeps his helmet off", Whispered in a voice where only Mikey's borged hearing could pick up, as I continue to keep alert.

[Jon / Bo]

"I dont know how much resistance is out there. It might even be a trap for all I know, but he is hurt and I might be able to get him out of harms way before they get to us." Ellie looks to the Lt. as he walks over "Sir, with all do respect Sgt. Salinger is part of our mission and the sooner we get done with that, sooner we get our asses out of here." Ellie turns from him and looks back over her shoulder "Oh and by the way," she says with obvious defiance in her voice "don't get shot" she says with a smirk. "Dyson, your sure you can do this?"

*before the Man-killer armoured guy can turn around, Mariana steps behind a tree hoping to not attract attention. She then uses TK to tighten the guy's armour's neck strap suddenly, to start choking him, sealing her own helmet*

*As soon as she sees Man-Killer (Chokey McGee) starting a commotion, she activates her radio whilst assessing the group she's fallen upon*

*The radios of the troops at the eating area then light up, and a quick, soft voice utters.* "Many troops. Surrounded. Shep, danger."

*Just as suddenly, she de-activates her radio, and watches.*

*If the guy with Chokey McGee has no helmet, and there are no others, it's a quick shot to the head.*

*If the other guy has a helmet on, and there are others, then she releases Chokey McGee, and tosses an armed grenade between them and runs the 4 seconds she has. But only if number two has has a helmet on and is not alone, otherwise, laser and continued choking.*

[Sensorium]

Dyson is about to reply to Ellie when Sgt. Smith's radio message comes in. After it's finished Dyson says "If hostiles are moving in then we don't have much time to get Salinger out of here, if we can do it at all before they move in. Col., are we going for him or not." Dyson sounds agitated, though not as bad off as after Ellie saved him.

Right after Mariana's warning, a quick double- click of a microphone came acrossed the radio ( a sign of acknowledgement).

[ Rhys]

Mikey snickered slightly." Remind me to hide it if we get out of this in one piece." He took a quick look around." Man, am I glad Koor isn't here right now."

[ Mariana]

The armored figure's hands instinctively clasped his throat in reaction to the choking, his NG-P7 dropping to his his feet. He gurgled a quick plea for help, that drew his companion. The second man, dressed in Bushman armor, leaned down to see what his companions problem. " Quit screwing around, the sarge is gonna get annoyed. There's nothing wrong."

A third voice, a woman's, caught Mariana slightly off guard as she tossed the grenade. " Cut it out you two before we get spo... Incoming!"

Mariana heard the sounds of scurry for cover as she turned and ran, quickly followed by the blast.

[Ellie/Dyson/Mendez]

Ellie could feel Gantry's glare from behind his helmet. He raised his hand slowly to point at her, as if to begin to say something threatening, but was cut off by a radio transmission. Shepherd's voice was cracked by shallow and raspy breaths. "Colonel, get our people out of the village.( A pause for a couple quick breaths) They're after us, not the townsfolk."

Rhys chuckles quietly "Will do." As Shep's Radio message comes through he looks to Mikey. "Well you know this area infinitely better than I do, where to?"

"Sir, we need to get Salinger before he gets captured or worst, killed" Ellie knowing the limits of her body is fairly posative she can make it to Sgt. Salinger in time. She looks to Dyson "You ready?" And with out waiting for a reply she takes of at a full sprint towards the guest house (SPD 19; PE 17).

Dyson yells "Ellie, wait!", and takes off after her(Spd 8).

Mikey motioned for Rhys to follow him towards the edge of town, but stopped as he saw Ellie and Dyson take off. "Those two are gonna get themselves in trouble. One of us should go with them. I can handle this side of town, sarge,"he patted the rail gun, " if you wanna keep them out of trouble."

*Mariana continues a quick run towards the town as the grenade explosion notifies anyone for miles about the location of those three. * "Psi-brats indeed." *She hisses to herself satisfactorially. *

*On Shep's message, Mariana doesn't respond, but veers towards where she figures he might be, considering where he entered into the forest. Seeing as how he'ld be the one to hook up with Mikey more easily.*
