Cabal caught sight of the SAMs and ran the image through his onboard IFF for positive identification of the make, model and color scheme to determine who they were as moved to intercept the second approaching group, snapping off another pulse burst down the trail at the lead (strike 12+4=16, damage 50+10=60)

The lone SAMAS like armor was gone in a shot, and even as each member of the squad managed to knock down members of the Brodkil, more seemed to be crawking out of the forest. Suddenly the air was filled with the roar of a rail gun burst slamming through the trees overhead. The Brodkil scrambled to their feet and ran into the forest, leaving their dead behind.
Coming into view was the SAMAS, which had a bird like head. The pilot opened his facepiece to reveal it was the old man they were looking for," You all better get moving quick. Once them Brodkil are stirred into a fighting mood, they come back to it plenty quick."

Rhys gets up and dusts himself off then checks all of his weapons and gear to make sure its all there but remains quietly alert scanning the area, and letting Sam and the others speak first to Tyneer.

Sam can't help but raise an eyebrow at the timing of the very person they had been looking for. However, since she wasn't a person to look a gift horse in the mouth, she simply nods at him and gestures to the others. "You heard the man, let's move."

Darryl stood up from where he was using a stump for cover, looking around. " Luietenant Thorne, what did you do with Shep?"
" There are others in your squad?" Tyneer asked.

Sam blinks in surprise at the question and nods at Tyneer. "yeah, we have another member of our squad who appears to be missing." Turning to Cabal, she asks "Were you two separated? What happened? Where is he?"

Tyneer scowled," We need to find your other man quickly. Brodkil get spooked of easily, but it won't take them long to come back with reinforcements."

Cabal looks "he was right ... " then trails off realizing his mistake "@$^*&%#!" as he takes off backtracking trying to find Shep.

Sam sighs and goes on the radio, in an attempt to contact Shep. "Where are you? Get back to me. Over."

No answer came on the radio.
As Cabal rushed back along the trail he'd come, he came acrossed the carnage caused by the grenades exploding he had heard. He heard Shep before he saw him. " Miserable Iron Heart garbage! I knew I should never have listened to that fierfekking quartermaster." He had pulled himself up on a log and was in the process of detatching the grenade launcher from his C-14. The barrel was askew. Shep himself didn't look much better, both his face, and armor were filthy.

Rhys slows up when he sees Cabal slows down moving cautiously and quietly.

Cabal moved to help Shep "sunuvasimvan, Shep, you alright?" he tried to give Shep and his gear a once-over, but couldn't really tell what to make of it. the misfire had made too much of a mess of things.
