It should be noted that Foreman was dodging breadloaves at almost 600,000 km/h. Or, in more human terms, the inverse of the average speed at the Don Valley/401 Interchange.
Well, on average... If you think about it, the Galaxy was doing a 2-day acceleration, 2-day deceleration, which probably means that, realisitically, it was at about 1 million km/h. And all they got was some light hull damage. A physicist would smack me upside the head and spend a week explaining all the ways they should be dead, eh.
None the less, I suspect I should review my speed scales since: 6 hours From the Earth to the Moon is 63,000 kpmh And 7 days from the Earth to Mars is 330,000+ kmph at the closest point, or 2.4 million if the farthest apart...
*ahem* Distance charts are needed...

Update! The speeds available in Mutants in Orbit are bunk. At the Mach 5 speed, it would take five days to get from the Earth to the Moon, and 4 years to get to Mars... That ain't right...
So, the Galaxy has, in effect, 2 cruising speeds: Lunar: 63,000 Km/h Interplanetary: 630,000 km/h.
This puts you to Mars in a week, and Jupiter in a month to 6 weeks (not a decade or more), better matching the speeds in Firefly, and more realistic and Mutants in Orbit's

Wow, there must be some really well-crafted drafts for posts, huh? Or are you all worried that someone will mis-roll and kill everyone?

Don't worry. I'm just teasing.

Other important findings: The Galaxy is 57.2m long... roughly 0.9 times the length of Serenity, and 0.09 times the length of the Enterprise D... and 2.1 times the millenium falcon
Weird how scale is.

Levelling!
Due to not dieing, Foreman, Jessica and McKenna can level up. Mengsk gets half a level since he's not been going at the same frequency as the others but has been trying.

I may also entertain suggestions from new players (see the setting information for more detail). However, to keep the plot quiet, at this time, it'll be a "yes", "no", or "maybe later" with little or no explanation (ie: if I say "no" or "maybe later", don't argue the point, because it does not fit with the plans I have). Hmmm... I may have been a little stern. I would provide some explanation. But, anyone interested has to remember that the Galaxy is a business, and so occupations or character types that won't fit in such a context won't be accepted. It's really easier on everyone that way. I'm still looking for a player or two. If anyone wishes to join in, feel free to PM me, or post here.

I have to say, as a GM, I very much enjoy Occam's razor...

Also, for those of you who think they're being inundated with Treehouse references, bare with me. In 5 or 6 years, I'll be back up to Saturday morning cartoons.

Wouldn't that be nice?
"No Stephens. I don't think we should smurf with the control systems. It would bring everything right into one heck of a smurf. And how would we smurf our way out of that?" Captain Smurf said.

Two things:
Sorry if things have been a little railroady. It's very hard to hit that balance between too many possibilities and too few. And, after the collective madness of the last adventure, I figured something more linear would help.
As a reward for your patience, you now have a chance for fisticuffs!
2: Has anyone heard from Kurff, lately?
