Jumping in surprise, she looks up and says "Bloody hell! How long have you been there for?" From the voice, she half expects to see charger, and if it is him, she smirks and mutters "Well, speak of the devil. How did you get back from the future? Did you borrow a Delorean from Marty McFly?" (tag)

"Sure... Borrow." Charger says, smirking under his mask, lieing on the wall. "As weird as this is, I do have good news and bad news." He says. "The bad news is, this isn't a schizophrenic episode. The Good news is, you have a dumb-waiter... which leads to other bad news... you need a new kitchen wall. Sorry."

Miranda sighs and smirks "You're reimbursing me for the new wall" Glancing up she asks "So, what brings you here? How did you get back from the future? And was it you who was responsible for the explosion in the Labyrinth?" (tag)

"Sure, finding a cool escape route in your apartment isn't cool enough." Charger counters.
"I think I was responsible for that explosion... but not really. I didn't know it was an anti-matter thingie. Honest. I though it was just a gas grenade."

"It's not that cool if others can use it to break INTO my apartment!" Miranda counters with a smirk as she goes to investigate the damage in the kitchen wall.
Shaking her head, she chuckles "Well, at least I was out of Labyrinth before the explosion" (tag)

"Well... yeah, but it wasn't my fault." Charger says as Miranda walks into the kitchen. "Sum numb-nuts leaves a lab with some kind of anti-matter plasma stored up, and I go and make the bomb and everything in the next room... no labels or anything anyhere. How was I supposed to know?
She can see that the wall-paper's ruined behind one of the cabinets and that some of her stuff is stacked on the floor. The panel with the wall-paper on it was leaning against the counter. The cuts were old and professional.
As Charger walks in, on the ground now, he hands her a pair of identical beacons. "Whoever lived here before you was a very important bloke. I actually wanted this apartment, but you beat me to it, it seems. Ladder and everything in there. I'm 2 floors up, actually. South-facing windows, good glare, so-so view." He plucks a third beacon off the panel of wood and pockets it. "Don't know where he would have kept his cache, but it's a good place overall."

Miranda takes the beacon with a surprised look on her face. "Wow. I had no idea this was here. This is very cool!" Shrugging, she adds "But I go away on trips for work so often, I guess it's not that big of a surprise. She picks up the stuff on the floor and puts it on the counter, so it's off the floor. "So," she asks Charger "to what do I owe a visit for? And coincidentally after some agents came to see me about your whereabouts." (tag)

"It's gonna sound creepy. But I know it was you before I know who you were, mate." Charger says. "I was gonna see if it was really you or not. But, listen. Thanks for not... you know, turning me in [ri]right[/i] away."
"Also, if you want to join the tools, you could. But, you know life in the back alley, solving crimes from the shadows would be so much more fun. Good luck."
With that, he crawls back into the dumb-waiter shaft.

"What does that mean, you knew it was me before you knew who I was?" Miranda asks.

Charger waves the red-dotted listening device. "I was curious as to who was here." He says, shrugging and pocketing it again. "I don't need it any more. Want to know something really funny, check out serial numbers on those two beacons." And, with a few shuffles, he's gone.

Looking at the beacons, Miranda heads over to her computer to look up the serial numbers.

It is important to note that the two beacons were visibly the same, probably exactly the same. Except one had a Russian serial code, and one had a US serial code. And a marking on both indicating they came from Korea.

"Hmmm, interesting." Miranda muses to herself as she looks up the serial numbers.

Doing a search through the CS net reveals very little. Though, news stories and blogs are popping up (active "look at me!" pop-ups) about how the red-and-black bomber, as Charger's being labelled in the media, is causing a stir amongst... well. everyone. Normal citizens feel harassed by the superheroes gathering around teh Labrynth to track Charger down, and the police are now being harassed to let the poor people of the Labrynth out of the blockade.
Also, the Caveliers are being mobilized by the city to reign in the newbee heroes. With the subtext that they'ld make useful support/tools of the oppression/admission of the demonic powers feeding the inhuman/etc. It really depends on the blog writing about it.

Miranda looks at the little info and wonders if she'd be able to help the Caveliers. Getting herself a drink, she sits down and thinks about this, staring at the card the detective gave her.
