Chapter 32: Blades in the North

Blink could see the planes taking off though the entry she had created. Puck looked to her. "Great work! Any chance you can port some of that stuff down here to give us some cover? We're pretty exposed here!"

"Sure, That stuff I took from the ceiling should do okay." blinks eyes flair up as the barricades appear,"And here I thought the lessons on this magneto taught me would never get used again.." she grins. pulling out arrows. she takes careful aim to best use the shot. whether it be to disarm a target, pin a limb or kill shot.

Blink creates barricades as Cap helps Guardian and Vindicator get behind some debris. Cap looks to Blink. "Good work out there. Protecting the innocent is our first job."

Puck smirks too. "She's smart. Cute too. You got anyone at home, girl?"

"What 'technique' are you referring to, old man? Having a big metal man chuck you into a fight, left cross slash, followed by a right uppercut? It's amazing you ever lived so long with such a predictable fighting pattern!" Daken shot back.

Logan and Daken were cleaving a path through the vampire horde, allowing the injured Alpha Flight members to get to cover.

Tabitha was able to smash a vampire's head, reducing him to dust. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see St. Elmo flare up like a sun - the energy wave vaporized vampires as it headed towards you, but Atlas created cover for you, Logan and Daken, with his own body. The lower part of his face exposed, Daken flashed a smile at Tabitha. "A woman who can use her hands - very impressive."

Dracula blanched as he saw St. Elmo destroy his army. "No, impossible! My plan was foolproof! I was-"

"Some motherfuckers are always trying to iceskate uphill." Blade's sword pierced his heart. Dracula hissed back. "Erik, you -"

His words were cut off as Gabby's sword cleaved through his neck. She could see the look of surprise on Dracula's face as his head and body turned to dust.

“Claws are the biggest weapon I have. The rage is just a bonus.”
As Atlas covers them does his best though to keep watching the fight, a slight smile seeing Dracula impaled and beheaded.

"Some motherfucker are always trying to ice skate uphill." Blade's sword pierced his heart.

Gabby laughs at this. "They sure are, Blade! They sure..." Gabby frowns in confusion as she looks over at Blade. "Wait? What?"

Looking at the pile of dust that used to be Dracula, Gabby cheers! "Yeah, take that!" Gabby flips off the pile of dust. Looking around, Gabby asks, "Does anyone have a dustbuster on them? We have a cleanup on aisle 3!" Whirling around to face Blade, Gabby holds her hand up in an attempt to high five. "C'mon, Blade, up top! Don't leave me hanging!"

Tabitha blushed slightly at Daken's comment, "Sorry, but there's a guy ahead of you, and the last thing I want is to do anything to risk getting on the wrong side of the old man with the claws." Tabitha grinned as she thumbed towards Wolverine. "And you would definitely put me there. Atlas? You okay? Not extra crispy or anything?" She asked as she turned her attention to her giant sized teammate.

Blade ignored Gabby's request, but it was Captain America who returned the high five. "Well done."

"It's not over." Blade grunted as he sheathed his blade.

"What do you mean?" Cap raised an eyebrow.

"There's a goddamn war all around you that you know nothing about." He grabbed some of the shell casings and bullets from piles of ash. "By sundown, there'll be a new fangboy claiming to be the new leader of the Vampire Nation. By tomorrow morning, some fool will be calling himself Baron Blood. By the end of the week, some cultists will try to bring Dracula back." He raised the collar on his jacket as he walked away. "I've got a job to do."

Puck looked to Blink. "Don't mind him; he's always been a bit intense." He winked. "So...what you up to tonight?"

Atlas grunted as he began to shrink down to his normal height. "I'll be fine...just need to let my ionic charge build up..." He was still unsteady as he got to his feet.

Daken turned away from Tabitha. "I don't usually go for the big bear types, but suit yourself." He looked to Logan. "You're with the Yashida woman again? Was killing her once not enough for you?" He spat at Wolverine. "You doom all you love - my mother, her, Silver Fox, Jean Grey. And Creed will revel in it." he raised his carbonadium coated claws. "He has a sword made of this cursed metal, and his own claws? laced with Anti-metal Vibranium - to cut through your bones. If I were you, old man? I'd be afraid."

"I've faced worse, boy. A lifetime of things that would make you soil your costume." Digs out a cigar. "But if you need help, you know how to reach me. Just because you're an asshole doesn't mean I'll turn down a request for help." Lights it. "Sides, maybe I want to see what'll kill you personally."

@- c "Big bear type? What is that supposed to mean?" Tabitha replied with an annoyed tone. She knew a Daken on her home Earth, but this one had already proven he was more łostable than the one Gabby had once dated. " Look, everyone knows you got Daddy issues, but don't drag me into them, okay?" As the same time, she slid an arm around Atlas to#teady him.

Gabby looks pleasantly shocked when Captain America doesn't leave her hanging. Squealing, Gabby has an ear to ear grin on her face. "Awesome!" I'm never washing this hand again!!!! Gabby rolls her eyes at Blade as he lecture, "Yeah, yeah, justice, punishment, scary man, blah blah. Had fun offing Dracula! Call me if ou need my help again!" Gabby makes the call me sign with her hand.

Gabby signs at Daken. "My god, man, get some therapy already!!!! I think you'd really benefit from sitting down with someone and talking about your severe daddy issues."

Snorts hearing both Tabitha and Gabby's remarks. "The ladies have a point. Find some therapy, get it all sorted out. If you still hate me after that, fine. Right now, you're just being a spoiled little brat. As for 'that Yashida woman', keep her name out of your mouth, boy, and the history I have with her unspoken. Otherwise I might act like a real father and find a woodshed to beat your behind."

Puck looked to Blink. "Don't mind him; he's always been a bit intense." He winked. "So...what you up to tonight?"

Getting dust and blood out of my hair...and trying that Poutine." she grins.
