Mayerts let the Hunter's comments pass. "Anyway, you should get going to the announcement - I figure a guy with your rep? You can find your target there without any other leads, or am I wrong?"
"Ah, so this is your work? Cleaning shoes?" Uncle Lex held his chin. "Or is it that you think you are just muscle and you do not feel like working out the one between the ears? You should learn from your Aunt, and even..." He grumbled. "Even Matthew."
"Oh, so you're a serious reporter?" Sonny smiled. "Well, my tip is that he's partnering with Lindbergh on some new contraption to seal off the entire country from any attack - Kraut, Jap, or Commie. I might be willing to share a byline with you, if you think we can work together."
You see Paul is already shaking a few hands as he comes up to you. "Sorry, sorry about this - some technical difficulties with the speakers. How can I help the press today?" He chuckled.

"There will too many people, Uncle." Alex replied with a nervous tone. It was not a new disagreement, and Alex always went back to the same points to rationalize his point of view. He was not so worried his family would find out his secret, but he was more concerned about the shame he would earn for leading on his parents about a disability that had been cured and he pretended otherwise. "Surely there will be some people there that know mother and father. How do you propose I explain how I walked that far if I am recognized? It is not that I do not want to get out more, believe me."

Charlotte considers this proposal and replies, taking care to not actually hit Sonny with the pen as she realizes she could really hurt him, "I'll consider your idea IF you stop all the rude comments and treat me with respect. Deal?"

Sonny raised his hands and smiled. "Sure thing. Go get'em."
Paul Powell looked straight at you. "Well, if it isn't the radio reporter - I'm sorry, I keep forgetting your name?"
***
"You took a bus? You got a ride? There are many ways." Lex shook his head. "If you wish to be more than a simple reaction to disaster, you must go where things happen, not just hide in this shop to protect your secret." He fetched his coat. "Come on, I will drive you."
***
Mayerts chuckled. "Alright, your target is some kind of spook - don't know which side - called the Voice. No one's seen him, so again, not sure who he is or why. That give you a place to start?"

Chuckles at some unknown joke, hearing the name. "Yes, one enormous start."

"You do not have to drive me." Alex sighed as his uncle pushed him to attend the announcement. He put down his cleaning brush and stood up from the work he had started. "I can take the bus. Besides, you made it clear you want nothing to do with Mr. Powell and his press conference." He started for the door, knowing the bus would soon be coming.

Charlotte smiles politely at Powell and offers her hand. Assuming Powell shakes her hand, she takes great care to not crush his hand as she replies, "Davidson. Charlotte Davidson, reporter for WKCR. I was hoping I could get a quote regarding your future plans for Powell Industries."

Mayerts simply looked at the Hunter. "Alright then - you need to linger for some reason? Or should you get on with your hunt?"
***
"Oh, I want nothing to do with that boy; but I want you to succeed, so I will take you and that is the final word on the matter. Now get in the car, and I will be cranky and old." He smirked as he opened the door. "And you be charming and sympathetic - we are both trying new things today, yes?"
***
Paul smiled. "Wait, is that the one I own, or the one I don't? I can't remember anymore. But yes, we can talk - I'll even give you an interview after the announcement. But go ahead, give me your questions? I am here to talk about the war - about how we need to be very careful and chose our battles wisely. Europe has been fighting for centuries, and America was explicitly founded to break away from that madness - let them deal with it internally. Now, the Japs are making incursions, and that we have to respond to, or we will get rolled over by the Empires of old - East and West."

Securing his brace, Alex let out a sigh and started out the open door, " This will go much better if you let me be young and cranky while you be old and charming." He smirked slightly as he walked to his uncle's vehicle and got in. "You could have just let me take the shop truck. Father says my driving is getting very good, better than Mother already." He could not help but notice the vehicle sag to his side as he got in.

Hunter smiles. "I'll go. You seem...uncomfortable with my presence. I'll ensure things go peacefully."
Leaves, moving in a loping stride, finds a telephone booth to make a phone call, only one end of the conversation heard.
"Operator, Para City 5-5558. Yes, on a hunt...It won't take long. A low challenge...Hmm? Of course, only if you keep up your studies..."
Grins, "I love you too, and yes, homeward bound I'll be." Hangs up, already in motion, nerves thrilled by the possibility of a new hunt.

Charlotte smiles politely at Powell and replies, "Thank you. That would be great." Charlotte then tries to think of questions that would impress Powell and help her get more interviews at work.

"Better than Mother is not exactly reassuring. If you wish to learn good driving, you will speak to your aunt Vivian." Was all his uncle Lex would say until they arrived. By then, there was already a crowd. "Now, remember your lessons - you want to learn anything? Look on the periphery - find the people no one notices - they are the ones who see others want unseen."
***
The Hunter arrived at the hangar, and could see the crowd, but he was also looking for where and how the killer might strike (Rolls for Detect Ambush, Intelligence, Perception - anything you think might work).
***
Charlotte would want to know if the reason Paul was uninterested in fighting Germany had anything to do with old contracts between his firm and Germany prior to Poland, or with the large number of engineers repatriated from Germany who work on his staff?
Paul waved as the crowd got bigger, the rush of humanity, the talking. Paul seemed to feet on it as he made his way back to the stage, looking back at Charlotte in anticipation of her questions.

Hunter slips amongst the crowd, seemingly blending in with the others, senses sharply tuned. He sniffs the air, eyes scanning the crowd, walkways, crates, looking for where he would take the shot, if not get up close to cut and gut. Beneath his coat, a very short cut down rifle, almost a bulky pistol, other weapons spread across his body.

Charlotte smiles politely at Powell as she says, "You show a reluctance to fight Germany - could that be due to the old contracts between your firm and Germany before Poland? Or would it have to do with the fact that a large number of engineers who work on your staff have been repatriated from Germany?"
