Issue 27: Assault on Asgard!

"Spidey, you wanna wrap this up?" Tabitha suggested as she went intangible, not bothering to try to make it a fight with the dwarves, "Trying to fight these buffoons is about as worthwhile as trying to have an intellectual conversation with Hulk," she glanced towards her friend trying to free Loki and smirked, "or worse, Deadpool."

Spider-Man leapt forward to assault the dwarf coming his way. "Wrap it up, I get it! It was a web joke!"

Bastion seemingly paid Logan's warning no heed. Was it born of arrogance, or cunning, was the question.

Blink placed the portal just as Atlas knocked the Enchantress through it.

"Where does that portal go?" Songbird asked.

(Spider-Man, Gabby and Tabitha)

The dwarf charged heedlessly through Tabitha's intangible form, setting him up for a knock-out by Spider-Man

Gabby pried open the plate as Loki's hand came free and began to glow.

"Ah, there we go."

With a flip of his wrist, he sent the metal of the Destroyer flying from his body, and he levitated to his feet.

"Now, as a boon to your mortals, I shall give you the greatest gift a god can - I will allow you to depart back to Midgard, unmolested and unharmed. But...you must leave. Now." Loki's words were tipped with venom and rage, though you could sense that perhaps you were not its target.

Tabby smirked as Spidey seemed amused by her joke. "Hey, I'm gonna drop my share of bad jokes same as everyone around here."

She was just turning to see how Gabby was making out when the piece of the Destroyer sailed across the cave into the wall and then clattered to the floor, and she ducked out of reflex. As she recovered, she turned to see Loki freed from his prison. "Loki, we have no quarrel with you. Thor brought the rest of the Avengers to help prevent whatever the the Sentinels are trying to do here. If we weren't trying to help, we would have let them seal you in there, right? " She tried to talk reason as stood her ground, but on the inside she was barely containing her nerve, knowing full well her powers could protect her from a lot, but the might of a god in a foul mood was not something she wanted to test.

Gabby unsheathes her sleeve swords and starts to advance toward the dwarves. "Nah, I'm good." Grinning, she yells, "Woooooooooo!!!! Let's do this!"

"Alright bub, gave you a fair shot." Claws out, leaps at Bastion, careful to disable, not maim or kill, in case they need him.

"Near enough to allow us to pin her face down." she grinned pointing out the other end near by the team.
"Now would be a good time to pin her facedown..before she can do any harm, big guy. Would have been nice to send her further or in Odin's court..but not a risk I think thor would like." blink adds.

The Dwarves stumbled as they rushed towards Gabby, heedless of the danger.

Loki disappeared in a flash of green light.

(Wolverine)

Wolverine's claws hit their mark, peeling away bastion's suit and flesh...but beneath the flesh, where muscle and blood and sinew should have been, Logan's adamantium blades found a pink coated alloy he had only seen once before - on the futuristic Sentinel Nimrod.

Bastion's head swiveled 180 degrees as his eyes lit up. "You really should not have done that." as he blasted Wolverine in the face.

Atlas was about to swing at the downed Enchantress when Loki teleported right next to her. The God of Mischief looked up at Atlas.

"Begone."

With a wave of his hand, a bolt of force sent the nearly 30 foot Avenger hurtling over the mountainside.

The other Asgardians paused in their battle at Loki's arrival.

Hawkeye gulped audibly. "That's...not good."6d6

"Loki....I presume?" she said with concern, "That wasn't very nice..Think of the trees and ground you will damage when he hits the ground. One of you flyers want to go and get him?" she turned to her team then back to the new player.

"So who's side are you on today, Loki?" The mutant was ready for a fight if Loki wanted one. A move like that on Atlas was a message. Before killing the messenger learning the message was probably a good idea.

Growls, "Figures it'd be one of you Pinkies." Blast singing, keeps slashing.

"Okay, enough of you guys." Ghostsabre snarled as she dropped her intangibility and charged at two of the dwarves in metallic form, leaping at them to clothesline them.

Gabby grins in anticipation as the dwarves rush toward her. She slashes at the closest dwarf rushing at her with her sword.

Ghostsabre clotheslined one dwarf while the other stumbled into Gabby's blade, falling and clearing the cavern. A large impact shook the cavern, even as you could hear the sounds of battle outside.

(Wolverine)

Bastion tilted his head even as he pushed Wolverine away. "I have refrained from any derogatory terminologies for your species. I would hope you would do me the same courtesy."

"Side? Loki is only ever of one side - his own." The trickster god turned away from the downed Enchantress to stare down Blink. "And who are you to threaten a god?"1d20+4

"I am Blink and this not a threat, I'm still being a nice mutant. I was just wondering what exactly brings you here and If your involvement If any with the Sentinels. Enchantress is certainly a reason for you to be here considering she is family to you. So that leaves the question of your involvement and purpose here." the mutant responded not letting down her look at him. God or not, he would pounce on her the moment she flinched.

"think evil thoughts, be fearless this is a god. you show fear he will kill you...Think big. I've faced Apocalypse and Holocaust down....I can do this. just remember what the Ghostbusters said...if someone asks if your a god say yes..." she thought.

"So what are you here for? Guessing it is not a fight or we would dead already." the mutant ask stepping toward the god not breaking her gaze at him. If Loki was going to kill her there little to be done. Better to go down at least trying impress.

That earns a pause, but the claws stay out. "...you're the last thing I expected to be P.C. So why are the Nimrons here in Asgard?"
