Calvin looks to Tom, a serious expression on his face. Did our investigation just cross over into national security interests?
He turns back to the lieutenant. "Lieutenant. We're investigating Jury because his vigilantism has resulted in unnecessary deaths. Plural. He's threatened violence against law enforcement. He's dangerous. Were you aware of his actions in the city? Are you asserting that these actions have been under your orders? Have you given this man the proper security clearance to be contracted for this operation? What intelligence have you shared with this... civilian?"
He tilts his head, "Also, despite your background, you have to know that turning to known criminals for assistance when there are military and law enforcement alternatives - like simply rescheduling or moving the targets to another location, or requesting law enforcement assistance - which could be employed is inherently risky. Do you have authorization from your CO for going way outside established protocol in this way?"
He turns to Tom. "I'm new in this jurisdiction - do we arrest this man? This seems like a possible breach of national security interests." He turns back to the lieutenant. "And frankly, this smells sketchy as all hell."

Tom shrugs. "Arrest him? How about we get him to tell us where Jury is, what he's planning, and then head them off at the pass before we become the meat in superbrawl sammich? Can we do that? I like that idea." Tom looks to the lieutenant. "How about you help us? After all, will Jury be happy if there's a large superbrawl and he loses men and equipment and money? Will your CO be happy about...well any of this? I mean, are you going to get good JAG lawyers? I know the show was over a long time ago so there's that for starters. Or is it more like "A Few Good Men" where you're basically going to lose no matter what you do? I mean, you like that uniform right? I'm sure you don't want to lose it, or spend the rest of your life in some badass military prison where you spend all day smashing rocks or making cheap Wal-Mart furniture with your teeth? Think you can help?"

Alice winces a little when Jason explains what had happened. She wonders off-hand if she can still use her telekinetic abilities and decides if there is a next time, she should try. Alice nods in agreement, "Yeah, we should head out."

"We have another problem." Jason added as we got into the car. "If Custer has lost faith in Howie, it means he'll be adding a new calvary member.He never promotes from within. That hasn't happened in years and means a wild card in his corner. We need to prepare for anything." He started the car and started heading across the city for the coast. "Should we check in?"

"I'm trying to prevent the theft of government assets by telling an old friend, who has a clean record, to keep his eyes open for some bad company. There was nothing that was not public knowledge, nor do I have any control over what he uses my advice for. Now, if you intend to take into custody for doing the right thing instead of turning a blind eye like the moron new base commander I have, I demand an opportunity to speak with your vigilante group's leader, and maybe they are intelligent enough to listen to me too. Since I doubt you have direction from your government handlers to detain and harass a military officer." He folded his arms, waiting on a decision from Tom and Calvin. "Why don't you work with Jury if Judge can contact him, instead of against him?"

"Stand by." Beth answered as Long drove, then came back in a moment. "Sorry Long, things are developing fast. "I think the naval base is your best bet. Avi has Trevor, Sylwia and Alison there now, but I'm picking up chatter that sounds like they may have something developing there."

As Sylwia neared the truck again, she could see it was empty. The rear door opened, but there was no one to be seen. It was then she heard Allison's telepathic voice, Sylwia! It's an am... she went silent as quickly as it started. Then her Band adio came to life...

Avi came across everyone's band adio's, " Mayday! Under attack! Multiple....," The channel went dead after a heavy thud.

When Calvin gets the mayday call over his band-adio, he exchanges a quick look with Tom, before turning back to the LT.
"This is your lucky day... but don't leave town. We have more questions."
With that, he backs off and runs back to their vehicle. "If you can give me a location, I can get there ASAP."

Sylwia hears what is in her ear and still trying to figure out where this ambush is causes her to react. Already in her form she heads straight up to see if she can get a bead on where everyone is. To do so she engages her light jump up into the sky and then engages her bandadio, "This is Syl.....this is Sylph. Where am I needed?"

"Leave town? Man, I'm going back to the base to hope I'm wrong and Custer is after something else." Lieutenant Thomas replied, getting in his jeep and spinning up loose gravel as he pulled back on the road and headed east.
"Cal, head east for the coast. The base is east northeast from you now, but I can give directions while you drive." Beth replied over an open channel. There was a pause. "There, I just uploaded the directions into the hover car's computer."
"Are you going with me or flying ahead, mon?" Kristian asked as he was back to human form and got into the driver seat.

As Sylwia gained enough altitude, she could see Avi and the others sprawled on the ground where she had last seen them, along with several naval personnel. At the same time, she felt something impact her force field and glance off. It seemed to come from the direction of the empty truck.
"Sylwia, can you give us an update?" Beth asked.

Long began to race across the city towards the coast, but he rounded one corner and sideswiped an oncoming car. Luckily there was no major damage and he was able to continue on

Calvin frowns. "I'd better head with you, until I get my bearings. Still a bit new in town." With that, he gets in the hover car and proceeds with the others to the base.
