The team had made it back to the beach house after a bit of headaches between traffic, crowds and the police, but within three hours they made it. Jason returned a few hours later, a bit flustered but glad to be home with things smoothed over with some help from MacColter on the phone. Mac had also managed to handle the press report, so no one would have to face the press.
The next evening Ashley and Isamu returned from their trip and stories were exchanged from past events.
For over a week, the group had a chance to relax. Calvin could be himself. Tom and Alice returned to classes. Trevor reconnected with Alison. Avi tended to everyone to make sure they were back to top form. The only let down was despite their best efforts, there evidence, in MacColter's opinion, was not strong enough to confront the mayor. The break also gave them time to connect and train together, understand each other's abilities for when they needed to take action. It also gave Long, Isamu and Alice chance to work on their strategies as Long had stepped into a leadership role in Isamu's absense, and with Jason's input, Mac suggested that one become the team lead and the other two the field commanders, but he was disconnected suspiciously before it could be decided who took each role.
Most of the team was gathered on the patio while Kristian was putting the finishing touches on barbecuing some of his homestyle barbeque cooking when Avi stepped on the deck, "Hey guys, come see this. We might have a problem." He encouraged before ducking back inside.
Before either of them got up, Ashley leaned over and whispered in Isamu's ear, "I think we should tell them, before I start to show or something."
On the beach, watching the sun wane in the sky, Gabe sat next to Sylwia. He was clearly nervous, "Syl, do...do you think maybe you and I could go out some time? Just the two of us?"

Calvin is enjoying the company of his new teammates on the patio, reclining in a patio chair, his crutches leaning against the arm of the chair, in easy reach.
As Avi calls for the others to come, Calvin sits up, his tiny frame aching. He grabs his crutches and slips his arms into the cuffs before shifting forward on his seat so he can lower himself to the ground. This stinks. Everything is so much easier when I'm powered up. He considers transforming - the thought must pass his mind at least ten times a day - and decides against it. Fate didn't give me powers to make my life easy. They're to be used to help others.
He hobbles across the patio to the door and enters.
"What's going on?"

Sylwia does not in the least understand truly what he is asking her turns to him, "It no just two of us now?" She says as she looks around and sees who else is with them. "Unless you mean something else in case I don't mind as I do like hanging out with you. What you have in mind though?" She finishes off almost curious.

Alice is glad the team is getting a chance to relax. They definitely needed it after everything that had happened. She is looking forward to eating some of Kristian's BBQ when Avi appears. A concerned frown appears on Alice's face and she heads inside, asking, "What's up?"

Isamu nods at Ashley, "Let us see what there is to see and this newest problem and then decide from there. He leans over and gives her a kiss and then says, "come, let us go see what Avi has for us," taking her hand as he pulls her up and towards the control room.

Ashley cuffed Isamu in the back of the head before heading inside, "Oh quit it, would you?"
Once everyone was inside, they could see what had grabbed attention. It was a breaking news story showing a mammoth of a man that handled an armored car heist, killing the two and injuring a a third thief. The vigilante then approached the person making the recording," The Jury has spoken." Then flew away before police could arrive.
"Alright, so ally or competition?" Avi said. "Apparently this is his third appearannce of this Jury guy, and the first two were just as messy."
Gabe was clearly a little nervous," I meant go out sometime, on a date. Just the two of us. Maybe dinner, and movie afterwards?"

Sylwia obviously not putting it all together and actually being that dense, "But I confused...I mean I no eat food but movie sound fun and yes just two of us as me think hanging out good. We can go anytime you like." She smiles and turns to Gabe. "Actually what I would like is to tour this place actually. We should get someone to tour guide us and the likes. I mean I can give powers to you to fly and we can see about the others?"

Tom is rubbing his chin, clearly dwelling on Avi's words. "You mean our super-duper-secret agent bosses don't know anything about the flying brick there?" Tom looked to Beth. "I don't think we have enough information. We should you know, investigate first."

Calvin watches the video intently. "If he's an ally, he needs to know his boundaries. Not a big fan of indiscriminate killing." He thinks briefly of their last mission, and the death of Ragnarok, but he'd decided that Ragnarok's death was unavoidable. the same didn't appear to be true for these thieves.
"I mean... the man calls himself the Jury... but he's clearly the Executioner."

Alice has a look of concern on her face as she watches the news story.
Nodding in agreement with Tom, Alice replies, "I agree with Tom. I don't think we know enough to make a call either way. Let's try to find out everything we can about him. If possible, we should try to meet up with him."

With a frown, "I agree with Paladin all the way on this one. It appears he did not even try to subdue the thieves before killing them. That last one is lucky to have gotten away from this Jury's notice. As far as I can tell his main purpose was to be showboating for the camera."

Avi looked at Tom and shrugged, "I dunno, this is the first I've heard of this guy. You're right though, we should follow up with Mac to see what he has anything for us."
Beth cleared her throat," I'll see what I can dig up. Tom, can you deliver when Kristian has things ready?" She almost seemed like she was looking for an excuse to escape as she left before Tom could answer.
"Long's right, the guy is playing the reporters all right." Jason agreed as he watched the news story. When Beth left, he glanced at Tom, "You in the dog house?"
"Wouldn't hurt for a couple of us to go sniff around down there either." Ashley added. "Maybe get a clue or two who this guy is."

"Me? Fly?" Gabe waved off the idea," Sorry Sylwia, not my thing. I guess a tour isn't a bad idea, I knew better than the dinner idea, I don't know what I was thinking. I knew you can't eat, that was stupid of me. " He sighed.

Isamu watched the video. The man could be a valuable ally, but he seemed to kill the thieves without remorse. How could someone like that work with them whose primary goal was to stop and detain individuals. "No one man has the right to decide who lives or who dies. That kind of power can corrupt an individual. If that is how he feels, it may not be possible to have such an individual working with us. Not to mention what opponents of powered individuals will have to say using this man as their new ammunition."
He listens to Ashley and then says, "several of us should head to the scene of his last appearance and see what can be garnered."
