Lex looked back behind them," We're losing them. Good driving Rex, keep it up." He kept watch out the gun port. "Three of them and four of us. I like our odds. Any sign of Rider? I lost track of him watching those tin can people."

Vivian yelps a bit startled when Rex swerves the car around suddenly and she says to him, "Please don't do that again!" Viv is getting another arrow ready when Lex asks about Rider. A bolt of guilt runs through Vivian when she realizes that with all the excitement of discovering the men that were actually robots, she'd completely forgotten about him. "I don't know." Vivian admits to Lex. "I also lost track of him in all the excitement.

Rex manages to course correct as all of you see a motorcycle pull-up alongside. The Rider looked at the group. "WHAT IN TARNATION ARE THOSE THINGS?"
Reece cooed at the child. "We need to get to that farm."

"We'll tell you later." Lex shouted across to Rider. "We need to get to the Donaldson's farm before they do."

Vivian looks over at Lex and replies, "It's the Davidson's farm we need to get to, not the Donaldson's." Vivian then looks ahead of her and thinks to herself. 'Hopefully we can get there in time.'

The Rider yells out. "Tracking where them varmits you been shooting at hailed from - they ain't got no wheels, and I tracked some damn hole in the ground! I circled back to find you shooting at them all, so I laid down some mantraps to delay'em a bit. Should be going off around now."
You could hear loud pops in the darkness, the sound of chains snapping and bodies slamming into the ground. The Rider grins.
Rex is making his way to the Davidson Farm, though it was difficult to see as the sun had long set.
The baby began crying as Reece tried to console her.

"Nice job kid." Lex nodded his approval. He glanced over at Reece, getting uncomfortable. "Can't you come up with something to stop her crying?"

Vivian is a bit surprised when she hears about the traps Rider had placed and nods with a grin. 'That was smart' Vivian thinks to herself. Before she can say anything, Charlotte, the little baby, starts to cry. Out of habit from when she would look over children when she was younger, Vivian takes Charlotte's hand and starts to hum softly. While it's clear Vivian would never be a singer - she was a better piano player than singer, she doesn't sound completely tone deaf.

Hearing Charlotte cry, risks a glance over, satisfied she's ok and seeing Vivian start humming.

Vivian's singing was enough to calm the child as you pulled in towards the quiet farm.
Reece looked at the child. "We need to warn them, maybe set up a defensive perimeter."
The Dark Rider dismounted from the motorcycle. "I could set some traps - reckon I could use some extra hands though."

Vivian smiles when her humming works at calming little Charlotte down. It typically worked, though this was an unusual situation so she hadn't been positive if it would work or not. When Reece suggests they have to warn the Davidsons, Vivian asks, "What do you propose we tell them? Here's a child who fell out of the sky and now there are robot men who are trying to kill her?" It's clear Vivian isn't mocking Reece, she genuinely wants to know what they should tell the Davidsons.
Vivian looks over at Dark Rider when he mentions he could use some help with laying down traps, Vivian admits, "I don't know a lot about that. I'm not sure how much help I'd be." Vivian looks at Lex and Rex to see if they know anything about laying traps and could be of more help to Dark Rider.

"I've had a bit of experience setting up surprises." Lex said, adding nothing else. He had not them a bit in Europe, but it was after the war when he learned how to set explosive, since it was one of the ways the family he was part of preferred to deal with advesaries. It was one of the few things he had refused to pass on to Vivian had she ever asked "I don't have any with me though."
