I assumed that would be mostly drinking and the trainers getting to know each other better. I didn't think any actual trainer's meetings would take place in game - probably best handled OOC.

I'm sorry i haven't posted in this game but I have been at a loss as to what to do. All the threads have me confused and for instance, I have no idea how Dante is supposed to help them learn to meditate. I mean he already told them his way. not Sure what Roan is asking him to show the kids now.
Also TBH with all the NPC's involved and all the threads, it almost feels like posting is a waste of time, as there are NPC's training NPC's and I'm just having trouble understanding what the point of the setting is now. Since it doesn't seem like PC actions have much bearing on the outcome of the threads, and thus the game.
Basically like I said, I am lost.

I also apologize, and not to seem like I am teaming up with dome on this one, but TBH I have to admit I am lost right now as well. Also I am not sure what to post or sometimes like my posts matter at all. Lastly, sometimes I feel like we are working on something then all of a sudden we are jumped ahead.
I am also a little lost in Harriers too, but I am working on it.

No problem, I can accept the criticism - I've never run a game this way before.
I've always been a fan of Catch-22 by Heller, and I really enjoyed the Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Erikson so I'm probably a little bit out there in terms of timing the threads.
For Dante I think a good focus would be using his powers to further the training. In the meditation thread, he could come up with distractions and then monitor their efforts to tune them out. Or alternatively, he could come up with meditation training aids (music, mantras, something like that). Dante could also monitor their minds and/or the tester while they are trying to use it and see if he can gain insight into what they need to do to improve. Does that help?
Akane is in a tougher spot, I actually don't have alot of ready-made spotlight for the character in the training scheme. However, there are lots of player characters and NPCs, I'd suggest a bit more interaction with them. It doesn't have to be with the kids, it could be with anyone really. What are her hobbies? Training? Drinking? Puzzles? She could invite other characters to join her in one of her interests to get to know the team better. Her disposition is quiet, but friendly - she could start making friends?
What do you think?

There is one part I guess that confuses me, is that there is martial arts training, and Akane is a trained martial artist? And as well as trained in Meditation and the mystic arts (well OK I guess the mystic arts is not much help here. LOL.) and funny enough, as far as I can see Dante does not have meditation.
I guess I am also confused as it almost seems like we are watching NPC's train other NPC's with a little input from us. As bad as I feel for this part, maybe a fast forward here would be cool?

Be Patient, Almost Done.... My original plan was to compress the two months of training into two real world months. Since we started the training threads in October, we will be done very shortly in any case. So if you aren't enjoying it, don't worry it will be over soon. Long Winded Martial Arts Explanation.... Tiger has a plan for the martial arts, and she could explain it to Akane if asked. Akane is a martial artist, but not in the art that most of the training is focusing on. Aikido is Tiger's primary goal for the kids. Tiger Claw, Ch'ina, and Taido are secondary efforts and those are only for Dancer. Kendo would be low on Tiger's list for three reasons: 1.) Kendo typically involves a weapon - which Tiger knows won't allowed at the trials and won't be practical later in the real world part of the mission. 2.) Tiger's focus is on powerful empty hand techniques - the special techniques of Ch'ina (automatic hold), Tiger Claw (combination parry/attack), Taido (turn with punch, backward turn), and Aikido (automatic flip/throw). The main focus is on Aikido, which turns an opponents strength against them, and has amazing Zenjoriki and Chi Mastery powers. Kendo doesn't really stand out in these areas. 3.) Roan, Marv and Lt. White are way better teachers than Tiger and Akane. They are all far older, more experienced, with solid training track records. Tiger teaches Dancer her Tiger Claw form because it has some great moves, and she is the best Tiger Claw instructor available, but that is more a shortage of resources than an ideal situation. Akane and Tiger are great martial artists, and have legendary speed, but neither of them could hope to train someone in a few months instead of the years that martial arts training normally takes. They have no experience in it. Meditation.... All psychics have automatically have meditation, its how they regenerate ISP. Techniques vary, as described on Heroes page 297. The simple answer is that I didn't know Akane knew meditation or that she would be interested in teaching it. My bad. This brings up a good point, if I'm not utilizing a character's skills, try selling them in game. Tiger isn't all knowing, so she occasionally overlooks things too. Or at least that is my excuse

Before I forget: All player characters are awarded 3,000 experience points for the candidate search part of the mission.
Remind me to award more when the Trials are done. Thanks!

Give me a little time to figure out what I want to do. The current thread involves Dome's character quite a bit....
Give a few days to mull it over.
