Miranda stays quiet, as she realizes that Khris is right. She feels like smacking herself on the forehead for letting her temper get the better of her and missing it.
Laughter is surprised out of her at the last comment, and she smirks at Khris. She then sighs and runs her hands through her hair and nods quietly with a reluctant look on her face. "All right." she replies quietly "though I don't know how much help I'll be." She then stands up and follow Khris back into the meeting room, her face calm and quiet. (tag)

Dante says to Tiger, "honestly, I don't trust your Father and his minions one little bit. At the moment I'm having a hard time deciding whether I should trust you or not, but if what you say about your father and his group is true, the only reason we are alive right now is because your his daughter. I heard his conversation before he came out to greet us the first time. It sounded as if his minions were afraid of you. Could you actually kill him given the chance?"

"If I had been aware of their presence, I would have fought to the death to prevent our team from meeting them." Tiger says as she considers Dante's question.
"In an out and out fight, I could maybe handle Ivan and Bell, but even a single experienced temporal mage should be able to beat me if they knew I was going to attack. They have fantastic weapons, like Dervish's knives, and powerful magic items they can pull out of thin air like Khris. Especially against more than one of them, they should win."
"Obviously, they don't believe in straight up fights and neither do I. Even so, given that the survival of even one of them could result in them just going back and changing the flow of time I would say that even if I assembled a host of heroes and carefully laid an ambush it is likely one would escape and time would change and I would be defeated."
"That said, my knowledge does present a danger. If I had decided to aid the Pilgrim instead of killing him - then I would be able to travel through time as well, and I could be a threat. I know modes of operations and passwords and safe houses and I can guess future plans. There would be a chance that I could win or at least fight to a draw countless times. There would also be the very real possibility that my life and the lives of any who aided me would end up broken and devastated, suffering fates worse then death. Since I killed the Pilgrim I think all of you can guess how strongly I felt that aiding him would be a mistake. He was a great man, and his cause is just. But his life and the lives of all who have fought with him are empty ruinous shells. Just because he was doing the right thing doesn't mean I have to be tortured to support him."
"Continuing any association with my father or any of his team, including me, is dangerous. I will lead a team to complete the unfinished mission, and Patriot has agreed to act as a liaison in taking the Labyrinth."
"While I expect my father to use his influence to have both of these missions assigned to Omega Shield - the airport is as far as I will ask you to go. Our things from the hotel will arrive by courier at the airport. There will be no need to attend the briefing at Omega Shield. I place no obligation on any of you. If you do show up at the debriefing for my mission or Patriot's mission I will respect your decision."

"... Now, I'm not saying it's magic, but I did walk on it and arrive here." Charger explains to the merchant, for the third time. "But, the quality alone is worth $500. But, I'll give you a discount. You give me some clean clothes, and I'll sell it for $200..."

* Jeckle says nothing just yet and watches the faces and is basically recording the conversation her way. she sighs and then shakes the head to clear the cobwebs and then yawns once.
'someone else can be the mouthpiece. i'm not a people person. i might suggest that IF y'all wann be taking the place back, you get a summary of who can do what. sounds like a lame comment, but think aobut it. the leaders got to be that way because they could either outthink or outfight the next one. thus ... maybe they would enjoy having a say in what happens to THEIR turf. why not have them set up their own small county or city? .. self government. just a thought'
*she looks at Patriot once and then looks at Tiger and finishes her comment, ' .. i don't know guile from guild, but i do know how rank works. you're the leader for some reason, and i know that i'm not able to take control. i'm not interested in being the boss, but i'll follow for whatever use i'll be. as long as i get my coat back with ALL its inventory intact. don't really enjoy not having it hearby. after all, with all the explosives in it, could really bust a building wideopen if they don't handle it carefully'
*this last part, while correct is also false, as the primers aren't in direct contact with the correct counter agent. but if they're dumped out and not taken care of, may get mixed up and well ... one explosion is all it would take to get the others to blow. it is also a test to see IF the room is as 'private' as its claimed to be. she then moves about, checking for devices for watching or listening .. or even to render the occupants unable to protect themselves.

Once alone in the hall between the rooms, Khris turned and spoke lowly. " Look, you aren't the only one frustrated right now. You have no idea how hard it was to keep from jumping up on that table and plugging the old man right there, but I knew thatthere was no way the rest of you would get out. And personal feelings aside, I'm not sure where Tiger stands right now. She was too cordial with her old man to be sure she still completely on our side. So we have to play our cards close for now. Come on, let's not keep the others waiting."
just befor ehe opened the door, he looked back and smirked," I guess now I know why she doesn't pay any attention to me. What could I possibly offer her with family connections like that?" He opened the door he was directed to by minotaur servants . He looked at the others already inside, " Hope we didn't miss anything important."

Miranda nods quietly and replies in a low tone of voice, "I have some idea because it was taking all my self control to not do the same." Before he opens the door, she shakes her head. "I don't trust her anymore than I trust her father and his chronies."
Raising an eyebrow, Miranda thinks to herself 'So that's how it is. Interesting. He has a crush on her.. figures' She then follows Shroud quietly into the room with a calm expression on her face. (tag)

*Jeckle looks over the shoulder at Khris and Miranda and says nothing. she just moves to take a seat closer to Tiger. a silent show of support and her actual choosing of sides and then intertwines her fingers and taps the forefingers together as she sits and waits.

Miranda glances over at Jeckle and sits opposite of her and Tiger, not showing Tiger her support and choosing sides as Jeckle had so blatantly done. "So, what did we miss?" (tag)

"Dervish's plan is for us to take on an unfinished mission, which are missions which my father's team has not been able to complete. Normally, that is due to an unacceptable amount of them dying, but Fakir has suggested one where no one on the team died, they found what they were looking for and merely failed to recover it or at least recover it correctly. Why they failed they can't or won't say. The reason could be tactical, or it might merely react negatively to evil."
"If I take that mission on behalf of Omega Shield, they should allow me to contact Charger and drop us all off at the airport. From there all of you will be free to go where you want. There is no need to attend the debriefing at headquarters. Patriot has agreed to communicate with them regarding any involvement Omega Shield has in taking over the Labyrinth. Other than that, I don't think there will be any further obligations on any of you. Though I would encourage you not to talk about my father - he has powerful enemies who would kill you for information." Tiger sounds more relaxed, as if she finally sees a way out. That the unfinished mission may be impossible doesn't seem to concern her, she seems focused on getting the team away from her father.
"Those two missions will likely be sponsored by Omega Shield, and all of you are free to sign on with either one. There will be other missions here I'm sure. I imagine any attempt to wrest control of the Labyrinth from its present denizens will have an impact on the city."

... The Plasique Midas, as the locals had been calling Devries since he helped them with their civil war issue, rode up and hopped off the horse. The battle field was a mess and the fortress on its last legs (figuring out how to blow the bolts to the foundation and not die was a hoot), but the rebels would not have suceeded against the warlord without him. It was the first time he had changed sides on a moral issue, but what the warlord had done to these people was just unthinkable. The warlord overcharged for basic necessities, like TV and colas, and so was even ripping Devries off, to the point Devries was almost paying to work. That helped motivate him.
Wrapping the scarf tighter around his face, Charger... he hadn't gone by that name for some time, it was the Plasique Midas they called him, here, a rather silly name, to be honest... left the battle field before the UN had the sense to look into this...

Khris folded his arms to his chest and scowled slightly before replying," I just have to know one thing first, Tiger." The fact that he used her name correctly for the first time since the mission began betrayed he was serious," I have to know just who's side you're on, Omega's or your father's, because you cozied up to him awful quick back there. Other than that, when do we leave?"

*Jeckle's lavender eyes stray to Miranda first and then to Khris and studies their faces as they speak .. then looks at the table top and taps the fingertips a couple more times. she'll stop only when someone speaks and wll study their face
*one thought comes to mind at this point in response to Khris' comment 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer still'

Tiger looks at Khris. She asks quietly, "Do I demand your respect? Do I place money above the well being above others? Am I really like my father?" Tiger sighs, knowing that those who just met her this week don't know her that well, and she is only slightly disappointed at Khris and Patriot's lack of trust - she would not trust anyone associated with her father either.
She carefully considers what she will say and their reaction. She looks round at all of them before looking back at Khris, "If I acted as if I resented him, do you think we would still be alive and free to go our own way?"
"When I realized who they were, my goal changed to getting us all out of here with our minds, bodies and souls intact. Everything I have said and done has been for that purpose. If the deal sours and my father demands service for payment I would join him myself to save any of you, but I would be much happier returning to Omega Shield. If you want me to go into details on any point, I certainly can, but I would much rather discuss my father somewhere else. Though if you have any doubts about the plan, now would be a good time to express them and I will answer as best I can."

Khris let Tiger's reply sink in for a moment, before giving his own. " Let's get going. I can understand why Dante doesn't like this city." He answered flatly, but had a talk about it later to his tone. He then smirked," I do need to get some things from back home delivered where ever we end up."
