Chapter Three: Sniper and Counter Sniper

" Gotta be the same one I already tagged." Khris replied through gritted teeth. He glanced down at his armor. No holes, but he could definitely feel every hit starting to bruise already, and he'd be plenty sore in the morning. Shrugging it off, he crawled to the edge of the building after recloaking and started seeking a target. " Come on folks," he said annoyed, " get your tails out of there. Now!"

*Jeckle realizes that she'll have to pull out something heavier and pulls out the stun charged pistol and arms it. the only drawback of this one, is she has to get closer. *her brother told her once that it was strong enough to blow out an engine at close range, but the best was about 50 feet. with herself being about 75, shee'll be taking her chances.

*moving carefully, she uses the garbage bin as cover and takes a bead on the gent still standing and then flips the 'live' switch to activate the powerful electric shock it carries. she knkows that she'll need to hit exposed flesh for the best result, otherwise it would only dance across the armor's surface and fizzle out without affecting hte shooter at all.

*when she sees her chance, she takes her shot. [14+3=17 to hit and electrical discharge damage of 12] she then backs out of the immediate area in case it doesn't take the guy down and he realizes that there may be a bigger threat someplace else.

Tiger switches her focus away from the guy she can't hurt to someone else, making a called shot right down the barrel of a gernade launcher targeting her. Her gernade splits the barrel and wipes out the shooter and another soldier nearby in a spray of shrapnel.

At that point, nearly all of the soldiers with a decent angle target Tiger and shift their fire at her. (They must think Shroud left) She leaps up the side of a building and dissappears into one of they windows the shatter. They spray bullets and gernades in after her in an effort to provide cover for the troops who have their backs to either the building or Tiger at the moment. Only the troops targeting the back door maintain their fire at the building.

O.O.C.:

Jeckle electrocutes the "tough guy" Tiger hit earlier right? The electricty has no effect.

*Jeckle is utterly stunned. so much so she actually stands in half view and stares at the guy's back. the jaw dropped and a blank look on the face just now. ' ... holy ... yipe ... ' *then she dives for cover of the building this time and does a mental inventory of what she has for what she has for weaponry capable of stopping or dropping this guy.

*over the radio to the others briefly she comments 'that would have stopped a rhino .. and has .. maybe .. bag his head? .... ' *she endevors to make something out of the few items that she carries and tries to cobble something together that might put the 'tough guy' out for the count ... and comes up with a grenade from the van and to herself says ' .. hmmm .. i wonder if this is a gas? ... '

" Jeckle, get clear of him." Khris said with a sense of urgency as he watched the soldiers turn their attention to Tiger. His rifle back to single shot, he began to snipe at the soldiers again under the cover of his shroud. Between shots, he says," Cerebrum, if you and the others ever drag your hides out of there, our tough guy should be yours. Odds are your mind games can touch him where our rounds can't."

*her simple comment of 'you don't need to tell me twice' says it all. that is the only permission she needs to get out of the danger zone. she does just that, bolting down the alley and then diving for cover here and there, she avoids any possible shots to the back as she crosses the last 40 feet to the corner.

*once about the corner she slows down enough to think things thru and then wonders if a 5 ton truck would slow the guy down? .. then does something useful instead, she goes back to the car and decides to circle about and approach from another angle.

'north by 90 for the incoming boss ... ' .. her simple comment stating that she'll bring the car in from a northernly direction .. about 90 degrees from the firefight site and the car's current location .. and then wonders if that was too cryptic as she starts it up and heads that way

[Dome]

"I'm just waiting for Patriot to get moving, then we are out of here. Come on Pat what the F*ck is taking so long."

"Don't wait! Just go!" Patriot yells angrily, but he bounds up the narrow staircase, bursts onto the roof and immediately flattens himself and crawls across the roof. "Which way," he says quietly over his phone to Tiger.

"The most kills have occurred from the angles outside the front entrance, and those remaining on that side are shooting at me. The front side is the best." Tiger responds.

"Jeckle," Tiger continues, "Negative on the approach, find a cover position and stand by so we can retreat towards the Caddy. Use your rifle and any armor piercing or other heavy rounds you've got handy."

"Also, do you have anything we could stick on our tough guy to see where he goes? Maybe Cerebrum could kill him, but I'd rather know where he came from and follow him home. Tell what you have and I'll move in for a placement if its something good." Tiger has already run straight through the building she took refugee in, shot out a window and is running towards the car.

Just as Tiger is talking, a SWAT team shows up in four armored cars, but they turn tail and speed away upon seeing the firefight.

[Mierin]

Miranda sighs and backs up from Dante and reverts back to human form. She tells Dante "Stand back" Once he's done that, she turns into fire form and throws a fireball at the men shooting at them (making sure to not hit the caddy) so that it'll cause the shooters to fall back so she and Dante can run to the Caddy.

Khris took notice of Patriot's arrival on the roof. " About bloody time, lap dog. I thought I was going to have to play target and draw their attention again." As the fireball sailed out the door, he whistled. " That might change things. " He lined up another shot of his own.

' .. gotcha boss .. ' *Jeckle leaves the Caddy and now takes out what looks like a pair of flare guns. she loads them with the single 'vehicle stopper' rounds and then radios ' ... think i have something ... just need to get close enough for it to work'

*she then takes out the grenades that she picked up earlier and then grins as she spots one 'knockout' type and hopes that the 'tough one' breathes air. she grabs the 2 pistols and then slides the grenades away as she moves towards the scene of the fire fight once again.

' .. got a couple of things, just need a better shooter than me .. hope he breathes air .. ' *Jeckle is back by the dumpster bin again and waiting for her chance to assist once again*

Dante smiles as Miranda shoots her fireball, "Could have used something like that earlier you know," he says to her, with a chuckle.

He watches to see if her fireball had the desired affect.

Patriot leaps over the front edge of the building and runs through the parking lot, the Caddy is a long ways off, out of sight behind some nearby buildings.

Wind Chill's fireball and Shroud's shooting adequately cover Patriot, and once Patriot reaches cover he cuts lose with his own guns from the new angle. The shooters scramble to find more cover leaving a great opening for the others to retreat.

Tiger reaches Jeckle at the Caddy and looks over what Jeckle has assembled, "What about some kind of tracking system to monitor his movements, I'm not sure I want to try to stop him?" Her question is picked up by her phone and relayed to their comm systems. "Cerebrum, how about you? If we retreat is there a way you could track the tough one?"

Able to see the Caddilac, Khris spoke lowly as he lined up another shot," Can we kill the gab session and get moving? I'd like to get off this roof sometime tonight, bosskitty." He squeezed the trigger.

Tiger says urgently, "You haven't left yet? All of you get moving. They will concentrate on you once they realize I'm not coming back."
