Issue 20: A Well Deserved Rest

Tally looks a little confused but turns to Melissa, "That was the only ID I have, I am sorry. X-eee never really got me anything else saying because I was from a pod that there would be no records of me in the system. I also did not think it appropriate to tell them that I am only two years of age. But I guess that means our fun is cut down as I am betting that bouncer is calling our boss now." She says pointing to the phonecall he is making.

Blink prefering to get out of the line of fire and let these people fight it out. This was probably an Avenger op and she didn't have full membership as one, Steve was always a patriot. with a bit of focus she decided to port soon as one them spoke to Chris. If none of them did so she'd port him and make it a rough trip hoping to stun him. Well too bad the fun ones are always trouble.

Blink readied herself and would port herself and if thegun were still in contact with her..it too.As expected the man kept to his roots. Perhaps the Avengers did have a place. She'd prefer X-men...but this worlds X-men were not her own..she'd be an outsider.

Kitty, feeling as if she has no other option, decides to tease Logan a bit more. Looping her arm through his, she gives it a tug. Looking to the doorman, she winks. "Don't worry, we'll behave.. we're just here to meet up with some friends anyways." she chirps, then looks past through the door. "C'mon 'dad', I think I see them.." she then adds, tone a mock-whine.

Matt had passed by the table and didn't like what he heard. He wasn't sure what he could do about it though since he didn't know who Masque was and the club Hammerhead was talking about. Was this the building that was rigged or was there another? How could they find out?

He at least had to make a return trip past that table. So after about 30 seconds or so on this side of the resturaunt (at the bar if it has one, or just out of site of the table.) he turns around and walks back past the table, using his cane ahead of him this time he stumbles at the table as if he tripped. He says, "I am so sorry excuse me please." before straightening up and continuing on his way to Tabby and MJ, listening to Mystique and Hammerhead along the way.

"I know, that's what kills me." Jen says. "She's here and now she's not but your still here. Hm, well maybe I will stop bothering you for now. Behave yourself."

Jen gets up from the table and wanders back to the floor, looking for her friends. Once she spots them she heads over to the table, "You two won't believe who I saw here, or thought I saw, Madam Masque. I think something weird is going on."

Upon taking his arm, sighs, "Just going to cause me trouble tonight."

Once inside, chuckles and tilts just enough to whisper to her, "Father and daughter'd make some of the things you've thought in the past illegal, to put it nicely."

Chris still had an arm draped around Blink as a shield as he replied, " Maybe the lady and I go for dinner and a movie instead. I wasn't looking for trouble tonight, but apparently you seem to think I want to help you against the boss. No thanks, Hammerhead will kill me. Worst I get from you is a night in a cell, and my lawyer has me sprung in time for breakfast. So take a walk and once we are clear, the girl walks. How does....."

Blink felt the sudden shift of air as something rushed from the side. Blink couldn't see who had pulled her from Chris, but she knew Tony Stark's voice as he shouted, " We're clear. Take him!" as the pair of them dropped to the floor with Stark over top of her.

Chris' pistol discharged twice, and the rest of the blind dating club turned to chaos as rest of the patrons tried to flee. At the same time, dim lights came on and an exit sign illuminated


[Aura & She-Hulk]

"Masque?" Melissa said in surprise, sitting up and looking around. "What the heck is she doing here? " Then she got a concerned look, "Wait a minute, oh shoot, Jenn, remember I told you this place was under new ownership? You dont think...?"

At the same time, the DJ took to the microphone, " All right all you crazy clubbers. The karaoke mic is ready to go, just make sure it's something the crowd can dance to."

" Please no." Melissa said, shaking her head


[Wolverine &Shadowcat]

The bouncer hesitated, then nodded, "Okay, by ten."

Clint and Eric waved the pair over. Clint was laughing as they arrived, "Good, you got here first. You won't beleive this one. I might need you the help keep Cap from killing me."

Eric joined in, shaking his head, " He talked Stark into taking Steve to one of those blind date places where you bumble are in the dark trying to make a hook up."

Clint motioned the bartender over to order, "Three drafts and a coke for the lady." He looked back at Logan an Kitty ," It didn't take much convincing. But something else is up. Ran into an old contact on the way here. You two know more about Juggernaut than me, ever hear of him hiring out his services?"

[Spiderman & Daredevil]

Matt was having problems picking out Hammerhead now, until he heard, " She wont steal from me again. Not once my wrecking crew takes her world apart. Now beat it."

As Matt faked the stumble, he heard Mystique's voice as woman brushed passed him," Excuse me."

Once he finally reached the table where MJ and Tabitha were seated, Tabitha looked up, " Hi, I wasn't trying to ditch you, I just saw Mrs. Parker sitting alone and I wanted to apologize for the embarrassing article in the newspaper, an the waiter just followed me here. These meatball things are really good though."

"It's quite all right Matt." Mary Jane said, " You and your date are welcome to join us if you like?"


Still by the washroom, Peter saw the lady with Hammerhead get up and leave, and then Matt made his way over to the table where Tabby and MJ were.

Taking a seat next to Clint, Kitty gives her head a shake to the bartender. "Ginger ale, please." she corrects, before looking to the two Avengers, finding it hard to hide a smile. "Really? Cap comes across as so stiff-necked, how did Mister Stark manage that?" she asks, quite amused.

When it comes down to business, the young mutant frowns. "Not personally, but he always came across as very mercenary to me, so I can believe it at least."

"Took your time was thinking I'd have to port him a mile up there for a sec. We did find out who he's working for." she looked around and checked stark or whoever was on top. The soldier could easily handle Hammerheads flunkie. she was not so concerned for her safety. If Chris had intended on killing her she'd have been dead long ago. Blink was glad however there were Avengers around.

Tally perks up as soon as she hears the word Karaoke and reacts to this very quickly by standing up and moving to the stage quickly and does not give a chance for anyone to stop her.

"I would love to do some singing." She says as she grabs the microphone. "DJ Sammy boys of summer." She says with a smile and hopes the DJ has it. "Or anything." as it will soon become clear that why she has next to no skills for when X23 had her mostly on her own she watched nothing but TV and a lot of MTV

Peter sees what's happening at his table and he doesn't like it. He thinks to himself, "Seriously? A double date with Hornhead and Lady Colossus? No thank you!" He nods his goodbye to Robbie as soon as he leaves and heads to the table. "So... Anything interesting happen while I was gone? Like our table gaining two more people?"

Jen face palms with a soft smack, making everyone ears ring in the process. "Do I think Masque might be the owner; now that you mention it..."

Tally rushes off to the stage when they open the karaoke part of the night. As much as Jen would like to up on stage and blast out a few tunes. "The only thing I know what right now is some old guy knows something but he's not talking right now and without more proof we're not going to be able to toss this place..."

Sucks being a lawyer and a hulk. One part of her knows that anything they find would be tossed out and the other part doesn't care, the opportunity to break things is very appealing.
