Issue 20: A Well Deserved Rest

"I just got here. so following you was not possible and nice as you seem...your not my type." she paused, "I can accept you won't spill all, just tell me about the one following you and will call it even. I'm not here to hurt you or you wouldn't be having this conversation. Choice is yours" she looked at the man briefly. Blink could see how loyalty was important. Even so she'd be better getting an idea whats going on from other sources and she didn't plan on being here too much longer.

Matt shakes his head, "I had a plan until you grabbed me. Figured you had a plan. I am going to go and walk near their table, see what I can find out. Head back to your table I'll signal you," sound all right," he asks but before Parker can answer, he hears someone coming in. "Convo is over, someone coming," he says motioning to the door.

As they exited the washroom, Matt slipped by another man about to enter and veered to make his way to pass near Hammerhead's table. As he did, he caught an interesting exchange...

Hammerhead: You ain't scaring me
Mystique: And what makes you so sure I'm bluffing?
Hammerhead: Because if the joint was rigged, you ain't gettin out either if you throw that switch.
Mystique: You're smarter than I gave you credit.
Hammerhead: Smart enough to know you better have gotten your money up front. Masque and her little club is in for ...

The room chatter became loud enough the rest was drowned out and he heard another pair of voices together giggling, Tabitha and Mary Jane Parker.


As Matt slipped away, Peter recognized the smiling face of Robbie Robertson. "Peter! What are doing here? Treating MJ?"

Beyond his smiling co-worker, Peter saw something that at first glance he wondered why his spidey senses weren't going off. Mary Jane was not sitting alone. She was laughing and talking with someone sitting in his chair. As Robbie sidestepped slightly, Peter could see it was Tabitha MJ was talking with, and she was ...eating spagetti?


[She Hulk and Aura]

The old man took another sip of his drink from his glass and continued to look away from Jen towards the dance floor. "I beleive I said Piss off wench. I'm enjoying a drink by myself and thw music is quite please. Now bugger off and play with the other children." Her closer inspection picked up a trickle of sweat starting to bead at his temples.

When Tally and Melissa got back to the table, Jen still had not reappeared. One of the bouncer had however. "Sorry ladies, I hate to spoil your evening, but I need to see some ID."

Melissa scowled,"Oh come on. How long have we been coming in here?

Sorry."The bouncer apologized. "Came from management. Something to do with drawing too much attention. You know you have to keep a lower profile so there are no problems."

Before long, Logan and Kitty are on their way. Without any major delays, they reach the Warehouse. The parking lot is packed and there was a lineup for the club side's entrance. The bar side didn't look as busy, but the outside could be deceiving, it didn't even look like a bar.

As they got out, Logan caught a scent in the lot. She Hulk had been here recently.


[Captain America and Blink]

"You do?" Tony said in surprise to Steve? "Where? You must look like a Ninja Turtle if it's under your shirt."

A couple chuckles came from the two women, followed by Sharon speaking up,"Stark, are you ever serious?"

"I tried it once. Wasn't for me." Tony replied as he started to veer over to cut off an escape root.

"Glad he's your friend and not mine." Carter said. "You want to take lead here, Steve? You seem to think you know one of them." The blue was moving away from Blink a bit towards them, but they were still talking


Then the man with Blink laughed,"You mean that tart from SHIELD? I think I might have ditched her." As she touched the walls, it was plasterboarded and hard to tell what was beneath. She could however see that several people were approaching them, two pinks and a blue coming directly towards them, and another blue was circling around. She thought she overheard one of the name Steve.

Steve ignored Tony's comment. "Another Avenger is nearby. Teleporter. Let's get her and then see what we can get on track."

Eyeing the club, Kitty sighs a little. "Great, a lineup." she mutters. "Plus I don't think I could get in anyways.." here she glances to Logan. "I mean, I am under the drinking age and all."

Tally looks confused by the ID request and pulls out the only identification she has which happens to be her avengers card. "I am sorry but this is the only ID that I was ever given." At which point she offers it to the bouncer. She fully expects to be asked to leave as it was her fear especially considering her age.

"Shield? you lead an interesting life then. If you weren't on the opposing side I'd almost be tempted to ask you out for coffee sometime. Chris...was it?" she grinned He may have been a hired goon but atleast was being reasonable as thugs went.

"Now we get to see what this wall is made of..." she paused, "Steve..? why does that name ring a bell..." she smirked as she started to focus on teleporting wall portions out a bit at a time to make a door, "If Gambit can do this so can I..I'm not letting that Cajun out do me. Now this should be interesting if it works..See I'm taking portions of the wall and partially teleporting them. Jen smiles lightly and sits down across from him instead, all indications of her body language stating that she is so interested in; yet not for all the fun reasons.

"I think you might know whom I'm looking for." Jen said. "Why not spare yourself the indignity of drawing this out and being spotted by, oh I don't know, people you don't want seeing, you, talking to, me.

"Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't the case now. Why don't you come clean and I'll just be a bad memory you can drown out in a beverage of your choice?"

"Shulkie was here earlier," looking up a bit, as if trying to spot something in the distance, really getting a good sniff of the air. "Age never stopped you from plenty a thing if I recall right," he counters with a half grin. "C'mon, they'll let you in long as you don't order alcohol."

Kitty smirks in response, then looks to the Warehouse a bit dubiously before shrugging. "Alright well, I'll follow your lead. Worse case, I can go around back and phase in.."

Peter sputters a bit when Matt cuts the conversation short. But he finds his words again when he sees Robbie come into the bathroom. "Hey Robbie! Actually, it's the other way around. You think I can afford this kinda swank with my photo money?" He nervously tousles his hair. "Not that I'm...uh... I should just shut now, huh?"

Looking past Robbie to the table and seeing Tabitha sitting there, he cocks his eyebrow before turning back to Robbie. "I think my date just got snagged."

Katherine blinks, looking at Logan... if she were a real cat, her ears would have tipped back from embaresement. "Of course not! Besides, the Manor is fully stocked, at least usually." Kitty adds, sticking her tongue out.

"Come on, lets get in line.. unless you have some secret handshake to get us in quicker?"

Robbie smirked as Peter tongue tied himself, "Relax Peter, I can't come here very often either." He turned to see what Peter was looking at. "Well, some guys have all the luck, and then there are guys like us. Anyways, I have to go, Martha is waiting and we have show tickets. Enjoy your meal, Peter, we'll see you in the morning." Robbie slipped passed and into the washroom.

The lineup the pair soon realize is waiting on the dance club side, and they soon get to the door. A lone bouncer stood just inside the door and looked at Kitty, then spoke to Logan, " Your daughter has to be out by 10 o'clock. She gets caught with alcohol, both of you are out on your asses." There was nothing threatening as the could be linebacker spoke, then stepped aside to let them in.

Both could seeHawkeye and Goliath seated at the bar talking.

"What? you think I'm scared of you? Silly bint, talk a walk. Who ever your friend is you are looking, she isn't here. Now go back to dancing with your girlfriends and stop causing me grief..:

The bouncer took Tally's card and looked at it. His eyes went wide and he said, "You're an..."

Melissa cut him off, "So am I, so keep it down."

The bouncer passed the card back. "Okay, okay, but keep down for the rest of the night. We don't want any trouble." He departed towards the bar. A moment later Tally caught a glimpse towards the bar, where the bouncer was on the phone, looking right at them.


[Captain America and Blink]


Chris continued to back away from Blink,"The other team? you mean it was you tailing me?" He started to turn and saw Steve and the others approaching them. "Oh well played. Distract me long enough to call in reinforcements, huh?" He moved much quicker than expected thanBlink had anticipated, and next thing she knew, there was an arm tightly wrapped around her throat, nearly choking her. Chjris shouted, " Back off SHIELD, or I'll off the tart." Something hard and cold touched her side

For their approach, Cap knew by the movements that the guy with Blink had her used as a human shield.

There were sounds of panic behind them, and and exit sign had lit up and a side door opened.
