"Uhm...sure, ok. Is everything alright?" Tom asks.

"I'll bark down what ever avenue you guys want to pursue." Sara said. "Maybe I can call someone from the intell community to see if anything comes up about our beloved, insane, mayor."

Trevor nodded to Sara and Long," It wouldn't hurt. Maybe they can come up with something MacColter's people missed. any intel they can give us would help, right?"
Dmitri cleared his throat. "We checked on the mayor's helicopter, but have we cleared out that it was the only one in the area?"
Trevor hesitated. "Ummm....... to be honest, no. I don't think we really did."
"Then we should be starting there before blaming the mayor, even if we know he's scum."
Beth hesitated, then came out to see Tom. She wouldn't look at him, but bbecause of the angle his chair gave him, Tom could see The left side of her face was bruised and swollen and her eye blackened. Desppite her attempt to start hiding it, Tom could almost make out the shape of a hand. She looked up enough to make eye contact, " Never leave a door half open when you're in a hurry."

Tom immediately looks at Beth. "What happened?" He blocks her path.

Beth looked at Tom, " You don't beleive me? I said I walked into a door."
Trevor looked at Long. "Why don't we get started? We go check these contacts of yours while Sara sets up a meet with hers, and by then Tom and Beth might have someething to go on using the computers. Better than sitting around waiting for something to do, right?"

"Yes. I totally agree. The C.I. I mentioned hangs out in South Beach. He is a little excentric. All in all he is not a bad guy, just weird. However, if there is something going on in the area, especially if it is in South Beach he will know about it." Long starts heading for the garage.

"That doesn't look like a door, Beth. It looks like a hand." Tom responds, his voice full of worry.

"All right then." Sara says. "I'll see if anyone isn't too busy to talk with me."
She gets up from her seat to head back to her room. Some of the folks she would call are a mgiht sensitive about sudden calls in the night. Yet some of them were friends and some owe her favors. Hopefully, her dealing with Homicide wouldn't scare them away from talking to her.

Sara looks at her cellphone for a moment and closes it. "This is bullshit."
She walks towards her room to change, stripping out her clothes into a spandex shirt and shorts, then into motorcycle leathers. She needs to get out for a while, all this waiting around was grating her and now their hacker decided to take a personal day when they needed her most really rubbed Sara wrong. She had the general idea where the brothel was and thought to case the place over for a bit. Do something a little more exciting than waiting for someones girlfriend to show up with lattes.

Beth let out a deep sigh looking at the floor, then rolled her eyes up to meet Tom's. The pain in her eyes was from more than what had hit her. " My husband showed up at the office. We've been seperated for three months, and the divorce papers were served yesterday. He showed up to try to change my mind, and then snapped when you texted me. I'm sorry, I should have told you about Franklin." She swallowed hard, " Are people waiting for me?"
"All right, let's go to South Beach." Trevor said with a nod to Long and started following him. As they passed, Trevor drummed his knuckles on Sara's door. " Come on! Road trip!"
He did the same on Tom and Beth's door, and made the same announcement.
Trevor patted Long on the shoulder as they approached the hover SUV," So....you knw how to drive this thing?"
After Trevor's interruption, a story came on the morning newscast (GM Note: It's morning, not night) that caught her eye. Local people were in an outrage because a well-known angel statue had gone missing from a local church, only to show up slashed by some sort of bladed weapon and dumped on the medical examiner's door step. Police were investgating.

All the metal in the room shakes when he hears what Beth says. He takes a deep breath and is about to say something when he hears Trevor's knocking. He exhales sharply. "...we will need to talk about this, but I guess now isn't the time. I'm...I'm sorry this has happened to you." He levitates out of the chair and hugs Beth. "I love you."

Sara held the helmet in her hands, listening to the news about the statue. Another message from Homicide and where he was going to strike next. A medical examiner with a shredded angel on his door step. This was more than coincidence now. Sara was betting that the medical examiner had some part to play in this drama and now he was about to be taken care of. Thankfully, Homicide decided that he needed his favorite playmate of the year to come participate.
Which is fine with Sara.
She leaves the room, grabbing a backpack, and heads for the armory to load up her '93r and put in several magazines to go with them. The leathers had built holsters so she could easily carry them without attracting too much trouble. Once she was load for bear she heads for the garage to get her bike.
She sees Long and Trevor walks over to them, "Homicide just made an appearance. Looks like he's interested in a medical examiner. I'm betting the same one that has something to do with this case we're on."

Beth practically melted into Tom's arm, trembling. "I'm sorry. I wish I had said something, warned you this might happen. Please don't do anything about this. I'll file for a restraining order later, and he doesn't know I'm here." She wiped her eyes. "I'll be fine, I just wasn't ready to face everyone yet and upset you in front of them too."Go with the others, I'll be online in just a few minutes."
Trevor stopped as Sara spoke. "Coroner? But they said no body."He looked at Long, and it was clear he was getting worked up again,"I knew something was wrong. someone was lying to to us. we gotta see this guy."

Tom is reluctant to break the embrace. "OK...OK. But we're gonna get MacCoulter and the others on this when I get back." He takes a moment to put his hand on the bruise. "You don't deserve this - it's not right." Tom gets back in the chair and leaves.

"Ok, then. The medical examiner is where we will start." Long gives his band-adio a tap. "We have a lead everyone. Are we all ready to go?" Long makes sure his costume and tonfas are in the vehicle. To Trevor, "I have never actually flown one of these hover-vehicles before."
