BACKGROUND
The Silkewater Otters were Originally from the banks of the Rhone river in particular where it branches at the Isere. They were brought here by french loggers long ago who wanted "french otters" in their rivers, and soon a myth began that they brought good luck.Fortunately this trend quickly passed. But a few hundred Otters were "relocated". None the less
It would now be the St Lawrence River that they would call home. And in its depths and along its banks they flourished...
Until the day came when the sun touched the earth
Along with the world the Silkewater's changed, and in time came to where they are now.Still along the St Lawerence, but in a Village where trade and commerce are common. It is this same village where youll find The Silkewater Bakery, and it has stood here since this village was nothing more than a gathering of tents.Run by all members of the family including aunts and cousins.Of course over time the Bakery has grown and narry a house along the Lawerence dosnt have a loaf of Silkewater bread or pie in its pantry.
Now the Silkewaters were humble and generous(it is said that they agreed to provide bread to the local schools for half cost, records show that to this day no school has paid,a word has never been said) with there success were able to provide Rives with some proper schooling and were hopefull hed take up the medical arts. As schools and places of education were rare hed often had to spend some time away from home returning in the summers.
During these Summers Rives worked at The local Boat/Air dock.He was able to learn the basics and his passion for flying grew.As his village was situated on the river they were frequented by traders in seaplanes bringing supplies and occasionaly needing repairs.Their stories of the world beyond his village intrigued him for long ago Rives decided that a life spent infront of those bakery ovens wasnt for him.As soon as he waa able he submitted his application to the Airmen Apprentiship Program.
