It'll be in the ATB setting. An interesting aspect of the setting is the reversion to older levels of technology. The same is the case for this, where the environment is around the 1930s-1940s. The area of play (and preferably of PC origin) will be around the Great Lakes, outside of the Main Book's countries of influence (they stay East of the Appalachian Mountains). This gives us the Great Lakes, plus the Canadian Shield's system of lakes, and larger rivers (like the Mississppi and Saint Lawrence watersheds) and so on, as places they can go. Relying on seaplanes and flying boats (which were pertty big around that time) allows a good focal point for the technology level to expect.
So, short answer: yes, it is ATB, but they will be using technology reminiscent of the 1930s and 1940s.
ATB: AviatorsSuperior Airlines is looking for a team to fly
The Lanky Arrow, a Lancaster-style aircraft forcargo deliveries, and other duties, out of Thundering Bay.
Applicants can be of any race, but pilots, navigators and radio operators are preferred (and, in games terms are the ones most likely to have adventures)
The Lanky Arrow is a
Lancaster Bomber, modified for sea landings. The bomb bay has been welded shut, and made into a cargo hold. The lower part of the main body has a reinforced flying boat hull, and pontoon supports extend down from the inner pair of engines, where the landing gears were. The the upper, rear and forward turrets remain.
Basic stats for The Lanky Arrow:Length: 69'4"
Width: 8' body, 104' wings
Height: 20' 6"
Engines: 4 propellor
Maximum speed: 300km/h
Cruising speed: 200km/h
Range: 4000km
Payload: 10,000kg
Typically used for refined precious ores, and sometimes as a courier.
The minimum crew is three: pilot, co-pilot, and navigator/radio operator. Though, it could require a crew of up to 7 in dangerous environments.
Players can choose which species they want to, but:
They must be between 4 and 6.5 feet, and not more than 200lbs (can fit in the plane and not weight it down) be fully bipedal, have full hands and full human speech. Full looks AR unnecessary.
If the available BIO-E is insufficient, prior to adding vestigial traits, to meet these criteria, then the player can opt to get these automatically (rather than be forced to sacrifice just to meet the minimum). However, this means the players forfeit the opportunity to use vestigial traitsafter the fact, as well as animal abilities those traits would purchase.
I may be open to non-ATB Books, within reason.
Preferred skills including piloting (ariel combat experience preferred),navigation (air), weapons systems, radio operation, jury-rigging, languages, labouring, recognize traps, recognize camouflage, etc.
Mechanical crew and office staff will be provided for. As we get more pilots, I'll get more planes.
Money might be a little tight for bullets, though.
Places of note: Thundering Bay a sea and plane port. Aircraft are used re often for timely issues. Ships (most are sailing) are only rarely used.
The Bridge (Windsor-Detroit) -a major manufacturing city the well-armed metropolis in the style of Cape Suzette.
T-Dot Basin, the remains of Toronto, after an anti-ICBM weapon mistook the CN-tower for, well, an ICBM. Lots of salvage, and artifacts, and minerals.
Various communities benefit from the sea planes in the regions, from the far North, to the northern states.
Vehicles of choice include propellor craft, flying boats, smaller planes, and blimps.
