Chapter 25: Moving Forward

Alice nods at Kristian and smiles softly. "Of course I will. Thank you for listening to me, even if it is under protest."

Nodding at Avi, she replies "Yeah, ok." To Kristian, she repeats "I'll contact the house the minute we find Sierra and get her to safety, I promise. Now rest, ok, you need to recuperate." She then goes back to where Avi is and says "Ok, let's round everyone up and head off"

*as the bullets fly and she feels them impact against her skin, she pauses briefly, much to her regret and mutters aloud to herself ' ... i'm bulletproof? ... oh right .. duh ..'

*she has held up fine to the attepted captures with the webbing by being light on the feet and getting out of he way. better still when she got off the street. her only mistake was the instinctive covering of hte face when the projectile in front of her exploded.

Roll 1: 31. /81 - clear pass
Roll 2: 83. /81 .. well ... nope. does not pass go or collects $200.

*no one is more shocked than She is when she lets go. there is a split second when she realizes she's about to fall and the eyes go wide. then as she drops down, she starts to scream. to the ones that fired, they may never know why she fell or screamed .. but the prey is down in the gooey liquid

Isamu takes Ashley upstairs to change and get ready for their evening out. Once dressed he waits for Ashley. When she comes out he asks, "do you think Sierra is ok?"

" She's tough enough to look out for herself." Ashley replied, adjusting her top. she checked Isamu out with a grin. " Much better than those martial arts jammies you prefer." She snickered as they headed down the stairs.

Avi looked up the stairs to see Isamu and Ashley coming down, he replied," Looks like everyone is already here. " As he did, Alice caught a glimpse of a pistol's grip beneath Avi's jacket as he zipped it halfway up.

Janie, already waiting with Dmitri, looked a little nervous, " DOes everyone get the jitters before going out, or is it just me."

Avi and Ashley answered at the same time, " It's you."

Sierra hit the puddle with a splash and soon found out it was much shollower than it looked, barely up to her knees. The armored men never paused a moment and soon they were surrounding Sierra, with weapons trained on her.

" Who dares interrupts my lair." Boomed a monstrous voice from down the tunnel, but nothing showed in the men's flashlight beams. Sierra sensed nothing , and suddenly she felt a powerful meta just out of sight. Then a pair of red glows came into view near the roof of the tunnel, that appeared to be eyes. The men turned there attention away from Sierra, turning to the larger threat. Before she knew it, none of the men were paying attention to her sitting in the muck.

*Sierra barely moves as the soldiers with guns surround her. she's still shocked that the muck isnt as deep as she had thought. the fact they have weapons isn't what stops her movements, its the stunned look on her face that she's not drowning that says it all ...

*that is .. until she hears a voice, and like the soldiers looks about for the owner. when she senses him, thats a different matter. 'holysoulreapersociety ... he's strong .. really strong .. the i can't stop him strong ... ' *her eyes focus on the area before the eyes show and as her gaze travels up up and further up to the 2 glowing orbs she whispers uselessly 'holy ... he's big .... '

*she crab walks her way out of range as her eyes look about trying to find a place to hide or escape from now .. and only sees the small ledge by the opening just over there. she flips over and crawls that way and huddles there for now. and really REALLY hopes that everyone forgets about her. one hand travels to the side away from the opening to see how much further the ledge goes

Alice tries to hide her surprise as she sees the gun beneath Avi's jacket and grabs herself a jean jacket and puts it on. "Ok, let's get moving, everyone." Smiling gently at Jane, she says "It's not just you that gets jitters before going out." She then starts to head out to the garage.

Straightening his clothes he says, "there will not be much left of this clothes should I need to transform, however it is still fairly comfortable." He quickly performs a few moves. "The flexibility seems to be adequate as well. We should go, Sierra may need assistance."

He follows the others out towards the vehicles as they prepare to leave for the club.

At the other end of the tunnel, the gunfire drew an outburst from mysterious figure. " You dare ausault me? Then feel the wrath of Atmosfear!" Sierra felt the blast of hurricaine force winds that blast through the tunnel and pushed her backwards. The armored men were knocked flat, but it didn't stop them from firing at whoever Atmosfear was.


It wasn't a long trip to the club, but it was tense. As they arrived, the manholes lining the street burst into the air to clatter to the sidewalks. Janie broke the silence," That can't be good."

On the otherside sat a van guarded by an armored figure," Oh crap." Avi said. " Shock."

Alice looks worried s the manholes lining the street burst into the air. 'Oh bloody hell, this isn't going to go well, is it? She tries to contact Sierra on her comm "Sierra, where are you? Are you ok?"

Alice turns around to Avi and asks "Shock? Who's that? Do we have to worry about them attacking us?"

[GM Note: Sierra can hear the radio call ]

*Sierra looks about and then realizes its the Comm. her voice is less boken but nearly drowned out by the wind sound howling in the back.

'holy**** .... the sewers ... they chased me .. shota t me .. i'm soaked .. and now some Meta is freaking powerful lives here. they shot him and he's PO'd now ... oh cripes .. stop shooting him .. yer only making him madder .... '

*its hard to tell WHO she's talking to now .. but down below, she's trying to get the non-Metas's to stop shooting and maybe calm things down. somehow knowing that its a hopeless cause .. she heads to the nearest mahole enterance to make her escape instead. more than willing to leave these numbskulls to their doom with whoever the strong guy is.

Isamu looks at the scene in front of them. Unsure of what their next move will be, he waits for someone to decide what they should do.

" Shock is a bunch of anti meta human supremists." Ashley answered Alice.

" It's a little more complicated than that, but that's it in a nutshell." Avi nodded, checking the safety on his pistols.

Everyone stopped and listened to Sierra's radio reply. Janie looked at the others. " Shouldn't someone get down there?"

" Somehow, I don't think that's gonna be necessary." Ashley replied flatly as all hell broke loose.

The Shock team ignored Sierra's warning and continued their ausault on Atmosfear. In retailiation, the huge meta bellowed in pain and then the ground above the sewer split open. Another gust of wind, much like a tornado, scooped up the armored men and through them up to the street. Stepping into the light, the huge neandrethal looking Atmosfear took a look at Sierra before using his powers to lift him to the street, leaving her alone in the sewer.

Once the ground split open and several Shock members flew from the hole, a beastial looking meta rose from the chasm and stepped towards the Shock members.

" I think I should have stayed home." Janie said lowly.

" Janie, wait in the car. Just in case." Dmitri suggested, his body suddenly incased in his coppery armor.

Ashley tapped Isamu on the shoulder and motioned towards the growing crowd. " That's him." She pointed out a scrawny guy on the other side of the crowd. " That's Mako."

The band-adio's came to life. " What is going on over there?" Jason asked. The police scanner is going nuts, something about a monster attacking the city."

*Sierra just stares .. eyes huge as the ground splits open, then the Shock troops vanishing up and out .. and then she gulps as the HUGE guy steps into view and stares at her before vanishing.

' ... h... hol... holy s ... he's big ... ' *SIerra's voice is heard and almost lost amid the roaring and shooting and then the hurricane winds about her and above. she stares and finally shakes her head free 'oh ... oh god .. DONT fight the big guy ... just leave him alone .... '

*she shakes her head as the guy's power still floods her body, and she focuses harder on the strength of the wind. she calls to it and an echo of his power, even on the same scale and more wilder and slightly out of control whips about her. her coat flaps and the air sucks her up into the air above the street. looking more like a ragged bat she lands on the street and stares at the big guy and then watches the Shock troops retreating.

*she shakes her head as she backs out of range of the big guy and then turns to move closer to the others. her gaze looking back at Atmosfear. '.... hi .... i'm fine. sorry ... i thought i was doing the right thing' *her gaze looks back at the and a guilty look crosses her face, and she looks down at her toes and steps back as the smell of the sewers reaches her* 'do me a favor, .... just DONT fight that guy ... he's ... 'scary' ... scary strong .... they fired at him .. and he left me alone ... i think he just wants to be left alone .... '

"This may be a good distraction to capture him then. Dimitri and I can go and grab him very quickly, perhaps teleport him directly to the beach house while everyone is watching the creature. If we can approach him without being noticed we will gain the upper hand."

Alice nods at Isamu. "Ok, be careful." She replies to Jason and tells him "SHOCK is here, and Sierra is in the sewers with some meta, but we don't know what"
