The Eye of the Old Ones: Is an ancient artifact dating back from the times of the Chaos Wars, consisting of five pieces plus a Rune Sword. Four of the pieces are in the shape of quarter circle oblong disks all of them covered in Runes. The fifth is a blood red ruby about the size of a softball also having Runes etched into them. When put together in a certain order the blood red jewel attaches to the hole in the middle forming the artifact in the shape of an eye, about the size of a volleyball. It was created during the time of the Chaos Wars when the forces of light were, one by one, putting the Old Ones to sleep. Forged by a Rune Smith each of them has certain magical properties when by them selves. When put together however the eye, it is said, has the power to reawaken an Old One once a series of rituals is performed requiring blood sacrifice's. The Rune Sword, which was created in tandem with the Eye is attached to the end of the handle when used to perform the blood sacrifices, every time someone is killed by the sword that victims PPE, which is doubled, is then taken by the sword and transferred to the Eye. When 1,000,000 PPE is stored in the eye, according to legend, then another ritual is performed in front of the slumbering Old One that PPE is used to reawaken it.
Towards the end of the Chaos Wars after the Eye was created, the ritual was attempted once but was thwarted by the forces of light. The evil army that was guarding the lair of the sleeping old one was defeated and the necromancers and other evil wizards were all killed in the battle. The Eye was then broken into it’s five pieces and, with the Sword, scattered across Palladium where they were presumed lost and forgotten for thousands of years until the Elf/Dwarf war. The Dwarfs recovered manuscripts in some old ruins with information on this artifact and spend thousands of years looking for the pieces. Once they found them was said a group of priests from the gods of Dark took the artifact and attempted to try the ritual again. It was thwarted again but this time by the efforts of the noble Dragon Knights (who were both Elf, Dwarf, Danzi, Titan and other good races). Once again the pieces were broken apart and scattered not only on Palladium but also on other worlds as well (presumably the home world of the Dragon Knights). Rumors have started again with another death cult of the old ones attempting again to reawaken the old ones. This is something the Dragon Knights do not take lightly for they have unofficially become the guardians of this artifact who try to constantly keep the myth, rumors and the pieces themselves a secret from everyone.
Known individual powers of each artifact.
Each piece can be recharged by simply holding on to it and concentrating while expending your own PPE into it. However without the sword one cannot use others PPE to charge it. To use the artifact you simply have to point the rune arrow on the side of the disk and speak a command word (in elven) and a beam of energy comes out hitting the victim.
The jewel: Has the power to raise and control the dead as zombies or skelitons. Depending on how much PPE is in the jewel it takes 500 PPE to raise one undead.
Red disk: Has the power to turn anyone into lycanthrops, the change is random: 1%-25% Werewolf, 26%-50% Weretiger, 51%-75% Wearbear, 76%-100% Werebadger
Black disk: Unkown
Green disk: Has the power to summon and control evil minions (demons, deveels, etc). It is bound to the weilder of the disk. If the person is killed the demon is released and can either stay and create havoc or go back to hell (50% chance)
Blue disk: Unkown
Rune Sword of the Old Ones. All that is known of this sword is that it is a greater Rune weapon with soul drinker powers.
